This is the drag setup I'm looking at. (tires)

BFG Drag Radials on the back, either:
235/60R15 (26.1 x 9.5) on a 15x7 OR
255/50R16 (26.1 x 10.3) on a 16x8

AND

MT ET Fronts, either:
25 x 4.5 15's (25.3 x 5, 11lbs) on a 15x4 OR
26 x 4.5 15's (25.9 x 4.9, 12lbs) on a 15x4

Anybody have the weights of the BFG DR's?

12's are comin' boys!!! (and gals!)
(depending on cost...)

Without doing a converter. Or weight reduction. Well, ok, I might pull the seats one time... :D

I'm getting a price quote on some bogarts. May do salad shooters instead though. Not as pretty, but probably more in my budget.

I ran some borrowed ET Streets this past weekend. Knocked .15 off my 60', no wheelspin.

So they're good.

But, I trapped no higher with them... So they worked against me on top end.

So, now I'm stepping down just a bit, planning to still get traction, and keep the trap speed up too.

Going as small as possible to keep trap speed up too. Wider will be overkill at some point. The 26 x 11 ET Streets I borrowed last Saturday were overkill. (I think...) We'll see...

if you have more traction with a wider tire you can run more air in them

and im sorry no way your gonna hook with the now 150 shot out the hole with some 235/60/15 tires its not gonna happen

slacker coulnt hook a 100 shot on nittos (245/50/16's) before his heads and cam and gears

I had 19 lbs in the ET Streets. I guess I could have gone up to 24 or so, but... They weren't mine and I was just happy to get to try them for two passes... Not sure what would have happened with more air.

The 235/60's have a 9.5 tread, vs my 18" street tires with 9.65 tread. I barely spin the street tires, and the bfg's should be a lot stickier than my street tires. So they might cut it. The 255/50's with a 10.3 tread should be plenty.

Last Saturday was on the 150 shot. It's a dry shot, so it doesn't hit as hard initially. Plus I'm still on the stock converter. I don't think a good hook will be so hard to come by. The ET Streets got me a 1.85, and I'm ok with that. Iif I can maintain that, and get a better trap speed too, then I'll really be happy. :D

The nittos are a little harder than the bfg's... The nittos treadlife tends to be about three times longer. (3000 miles vs 12000 miles) So the bfg's should be a little different story on hooking since they're softer. (I'm hoping they hook a little better)

I love to experiment and see what works anyway...

BF drag radials 255 50's mounted on a salad shooter 16 x 8 rim for the back
The salad shooters are the lightest f body rim
Mine (rim and drag) weigh 46 pounds
SLP sells f body 16 x 8 rims for $50 each

The M/T front runners are a very expensive tire.
I went with a bf goodrich 175 80 tire mounted on a weld drag lite 15 x 3.5 rim
I paid $40 per 175 80 tire brand new.
You can use a 165 R 15 Volkswagen tire but I wanted a bit wider.

I'd explore the 255 50 16 bf drag on a salad shooter rim w/ weld drag lite 15 x 3.5's w/ 175 80 bf radial tire
