Launch technique with high stall and stock tires??

I have a 3000 stall and it loses traction badly if I stall it up all the way. Would it bog down too much if I launched the car at 2500 rpm? This would help keep some of my traction, but I've heard that aftermarket converters will not perform well launching too far below stall.

You will not bog.
Stock tires will spin whatever you do.
You can play with tire psi, relocate weight, get expensive traction devices and so on.... or you could get 2 used 16 X 8 rims from SLP for $50 each and pick yourself up a set of drag radials used for around $200

If my tires are at 32 psi how much lower should I set them ? We are talking about the rear tires only, right?

Well, on a stock converter I would go with 40 psi in the front and 30 psi in the rear.

This set up got me to a 13.4 on stock converter and street tires
