    is this legal; i want to take mine out for a track run.. i think they weigh like 25lbs for the both of them.

      Not safe, most if not all tracks don't allow it, and will also create lots of drag.

        yea that;s what i was thinking. my car needs to go on a massive diet. I'm thinking of gutting the entire interior.. i'm talking everything. i really wanna get the car under 3000 lbs.

          I doubt any tracks will let you.

          and its pointless considering the drag it will create (like magnus said)

              Since most tracks require the windows to be up, then I think they'd also require the tops to be on. Like everyone's said, it's pointless to have them off unless you like wind drag.

              Interesting enough though, most autocross clubs will let you run with the tops off, which a number of people do.

                Yeah, I agree with Silver...with the wind drag you'll probably run in the upper 20's...and yes, that is seconds...
                Hey, but if you do take out the back hatch...barely any wind drag, right?! I mean that back glass has to weigh atleast 4000lbs...
