• Second time at the track

Went to the track yesterday. Disappointed in the track prep later in the day. As I got faster the track got dirtier. You could see rocks and gravel on the start line. Temp was still in the high 90's when we started racing. There was a LS1 Z28 w/ a T-56 that I ran three times. Each time I beat him in the 60'. He couldn't believe my 3.4 was doing this. I was surprised to see another 3.4 camaro there, but he was running in the 17-18 range. Stock 3.4 auto. Sad. I ran w/ a full tank of gas, and nothing in the rear area(including spare). Here are the times (I'm car 752)

7:29pm This was too soft of a launch.

7:55pm Another soft launch. Got some wheel hop on this one.

10:41pm This was a single cam vtech car. Mid 90's. His quickest run of the night. I had more wheel hop.

11:05pm This was the biggest mis-match of the night. This was like a pro street car and he shut down early. I spun like hell trying to keep up with his 60' time.

I'm hopeing to make that 16.2 a 16.0 the next time I go. I need a little more practice launching with the new rear.

I hope that you meant he used his brakes to slow down... :(

While going down the track I looked in me rear view and saw him slowing with a huge puff of white smoke. I didn't get a chance to talk to him afterwards. I hope it was just a clutch problem. Hopefully he didn't blow his motor. :(

not bad do you think you might be able to launch harder off the line?

I think I could run at least a 16 flat with better track prep. It seems like Famoso always has traction problems. They stopped cleaning the track around 10:00pm and just had a guy with a mop at the start. No traction compound that night either. :( Upper rpm's and slow shifts are also holding me back. I should have a shift kit and reprogramming in a few months.
