No love.

I figure that's pretty decent for a stock convertered car with stock manifolds. The back end is squaiting nicely and the front is defiantely rising.

I won't have wheels up photo's until the fall most likely.

If u bore and stroke the Ls1 to a 383 would it still be called a Ls1 So u can slam a Ls1 into a 93-97 Fbody I thought It was imposible to do that thats what every body on this site said.how much work is involved to stuff that engine in

It looks no different than when it had the 6.. maybe even worse. Weren't you able to pull a tire with the other motor? Maybe you are launching wrong. Are you using slicks or DR's? What was your 60ft. again?

p.s. nevermind.. just saw 1.8 and slicks. What kind of slicks??

yeah and the v6 had a massive converter and tons of motor work, and wasnt it on nitrous when he pulled a tire? even so the converter makes a huge difference, i bet he would pull a tire with the ls1 if he had a big converter in there

Shirl, that's with a stock torque converter. I was also on nittos.

The V6 NA launched harder, I was able to pull 1.7's and it definately lifted the front end higher..

I expect to carry both with the YPT4400 at my raceweight.

Looks GUD!! A buddy of mine offered me a huge hookup but I didn't have the money. He offered me an LS1 w/ about 40,000 miles on it for $1800. :(

Magnus, I have a 96 camaro, would an LS1 be quite a bit of trouble to put into this car?
Are 95-97 f-bodys all pretty much the same.?

I paid $3800 for all the parts needed and swapped myself.

Swapping a LS1 into a pre LS1 body is big PITA. You definately need to do your research and be good with wiring cause you're going to need to rewire your harness.. or pay to have somene else do it.

Yea, i heard for swapping a LS1 into pre LS1 f-bodys id have to rewire alot, and that my best bet would be to swap the dash all together. Well, i guess before i think about putting any power into this car i should spend my money on strengthening the suspension and drivetrain.

Over at my board, www.ls1tech.com, we define the internally stock record as a car with a stock longblock. That means stock heads and cam. We do allow the LS6 intake since it came standard on the 01/02 cars.

The record is 11.27 by Dave aka Ruqukr (sp). I bet he was more like 3100 raceweight in perfect air.

I was surprised that Magnus ran that well, I was thinking 12.8@110mph but the 12.5's showed that a 12.4 was very possible. In Keith's case the 4.10 gears are worth about 2mph and maybe worth like .1 in ET they help his car work better in 3rd gear.

Here in Chicago the stock engine record is Priss, she's gone 11.69@114mph with very little weight reduction so frankly I see Tin Can Keith hitting 11.4's very quickly.

Keith, how about set up another differential with 3.42's and keep the 4.10's for end of year? LPE SS is selling his whole stocker (3.42) for $200 that's a deal!

Also, Keith, maybe you can Zach could offer to do swaps for folks for like like a G, if they ship the drivetrain to you. They might need to sweat some pcm codes but you guys know what you are doing.

My car is running now, and hopefully I can demonstrate to a certain someone the value of a big stall.

Hi John,

I would really like 3.42's but I can't buy ANOTHER rear end.. I already have 1 spare sitting over in the shop... I have 2 sets of 3.23 gears as well.. I'm going to throw in the 3.23's with the TP4400.. I think that should work well and be nice on the highway.. 4.10's as is already give me traciton problems.

I am offering to do engine swaps for 1K.. Already have a few potentials lined up.

Big stall is the way to go!! What are you going to do about your launch John? Gonna wheelie bar it? I see YOUR tin can getting a little out of hand as well.

Now, time to get Brad to do a bigger stall as well.
