• all opinions welcome will the et be better with 245/16 nittos or 275/15 nittos?

I would like to hear all your opinions, if i got prostar 15x8 and 15x3.5 and some nitto 275/50/15 tires would my et be worse than if i ran 16" salad shooters and 245/50/16 nittos? thanks everyone, i just wanna make sure the 15s wont hurt my et since they are so wide

    Good question.

According to a tire/wheel size calculator, they both have a smaller diameter than the stock tires, so either will give you a slightly lower gearing. The 15" is 1.4% lower than stock. The 16" will be 2.1% lower.

The 15" will be about 1.2 inches wider than the 16". You could run slightly lower pressure in the wider tire and get a bigger footprint with not as much flex as the narrower tire at the same pressure.

A given psi, should always give the same overall footprint, no matter what tire size. It's just shaped differently. A wide tire will have a wider and shorter footprint. A narrower tire will have a narrower and longer footprint (the longer footprint means the tire has to flex more, in order to keep the front and the back of the tire down flat on the ground.)

Depends on which you need the most: more traction, or less rolling resistance.

How is your traction now? The best tire would probably be the smallest width that you can get by with. (plus the most pressure you can get by with)

      If you stay N/A stay with a 16 X 8 rim with a 245 50 16 nitto

What kind of power are you looking to put out? If oyu already have both sets, why not try the 245s first since they will produce less friction down the track and if they do not work go bigger. Though I do not really see the need for 275s on 15s, those are pretty big.

why do you say this? magnus ran 275/50/15 with his n/a car i know he had n20 but even after he stopped running it he used the 275.

With all those engine and exhaust mods in your sig, plus the higher stall converter and 3.73 gears, you might need the wider tire after all...

But the question, about will the wider tire hurt the overall e.t., you may just have to try both, to know for sure.
