    Hey,

    I'm taking her out to the ol drag strip tomorrow. I should be able to get 5 or so runs in. I think I'm going to switch off the tires into my stock ones (nearly bald) for less weight just to give it a shot (although stock ones are 225s, new ones are 245s).

    Also, I plan on taking out my subs + sub box and the spare tire (should gain about 100 lbs there).

    Any other tips? Deflate the tires a bit or anything? Already running 1/8th tank gas...

    Removing your front sway bar will help weight transfer and save a little weight.

    You could take out the back seat but it looked like a PITA when I tried it. (I hear vise grips help)

    Basically weight reduction anywhere possible will get you a little lower ET but its work.

    Have you ran before?

    If not..

    Leave the line when you see the third yellow light up.

    Try not to get your tires too wet in the burn out box, spin them a little to get them dried off

      I hope you are not gonna run on those 18" rims, thats gonna really hurt your times. :eek:

        That was one of my questions. Will the 18" rims hurt me a ton? They're 245 wide...and the stock ones are 225, but I've never really had a problem with traction before. I assume the 16" are a huge advantage (in rotational mass, as well as weight).

            well put it this way, i have those same tires on my 18's and when i put my 16's back on i pulled .3 off my time.

              I put 18's on mine too, with 245's.

              I went from 43 lbs per tire/wheel with the stock 16's and stock 235's, to 55 lbs per tire/wheel with the new setup. It slowed me down some on top end I think, although I did take .2 off my 60' times with the better traction with these tires.
