so i learned something this past weekend at the track.
my previous times at the track i've been running with a full tank of gas, so this time i figured i'd run near empty. so i grabbed a full jerry can from home before i left...there were two jerry cans identical--one with 2 month old gas, one with 2 year+ old gas. i grabbed the 2 year old crap by accident. both were 87 octane at the time of purchase...i didn't think there'd be much of a difference if the gas was new from the pump, or two months old.
boy, was i wrong!@ two weeks ago i ran 15.402 with a full tank, this time was 15.707, with an empty tank. i had big time reduced bottom end, and just reduced pull throughout my rpm range...i could feel it.
so ya, old gas is a bad thing! i've just been running 87 octane ("regular," here) thus far, but maybe i'll try 93 ("premium") next time i go to the track.
i have an '02, with a stock L36, with 12,000 miles on it. what kind of fuel are you n/a guys using?
