Lady backed into me in a private parking lot. Police will not come to the scene of a car accident on private property unless there is an injury and/or DUI. So with no police report, I contacted the lady's insurance company (State Farm), they contacted me the next day with my options for body shops. Over $1000 in damage and was repaired in less than a week.

quote:
Insurance only covers your car being driven on public roads. As with many companies, you will not be covered if you are hit in a private parking lot as I was. They won't cover it being that it was not a public road

That's one of the most rediculous things I've ever heard. It's not true for State Farm nor is it true for Allstate.
Back on topic, though...
Most insurance companies can/will drop your coverage if they have proof your car has been on any closed racing track or competed in a timed racing event. There are special policies/companies that offer insurance on race vehicles. You will pay out your *** for coverage, though!
