Temperatures and 1/4 times

How much does the temperature affect times at the track? For instance, say you run a 15.5 in 72 degrees. What would you run at 92 degrees?

don't know the difference in temps, but on may 18th, with full interior & a full tank of gas i ran a 15.402. yesturday on june 27 i ran 15.432 with about 1/2 the interior installed & with a 1/4 tank of gas. i then added 30liters of gas, and i ran 15.624. so i can definitly say that temps definitly have something to do with times....the colder the better it seems

cold air is more dense.

its like running a a turbo that is intercooled.. vs a turbo that is non intercooled.. at the same PSI


which will give better dyno numbers?

the intercooled one. i guess.. lol

It seems to me the weather is a big factor. I ran for the first time in January with only the Borla and the K&N (~65 degrees) and ran in June (~85 degrees) and got about the same time with all the mods you see listed (minus the LCAs). I have friends that notice the same thing with drops in temp. Like he said above, colder air is more dense.

Hot air also increases drag force. While it's less dense, the increase in viscosity overpowers the density difference.

The previous comments on denser charge to the engine probably account for 75% of it though..
