it blew up, it doesn't move! bad night

Well going to do my 4th run of the night, after the burnout i staged and then a loud clang noise comes and the car just rev's and the noise gets louder. The rear end is gone, and maybe the trans because the car rolls in park. It makes a horrible noise from the rear when in any gear but park. I new something was up because I was running mids 16's all night with 2.5 60's, so messe dwith the tire pressure and nothing helped and then on the 4th run it blew.
I have new gears and lsd sitting here with me, if its also the trans I will have that redone with a high stall, shift kit, servo and trans cooler, plus the rebuild.
After this I will be selling the car, I am very pissed that this happen so I am going to sell it to my GF, after its fixed so she will have a semi fast car. I will get pics of all of the peices that broke when they take it apart. :mad:

I'm sorry to hear about that man. If it costs too much to fix, you can buy that V8 instead :D

If you want to just slap in a used tranny my old 97 A4 with 3 stage shift kit is for sale.. very cheap too.. much cheaper than rebuild and it ran just fine..

SOrry to hear about your troubles. It's VERY rare that you hear a 3.8 breaking a rear end.. chances are there was installation problem or oiling issue.

i dont think its the trans, It was the stock gears the had never been messed with so i dont know, people holy **** a v6 broke his rear, "are you spraying" i was no lol that would be nice tho, I am just going to fix it and get rid of it. If had enough power or whatever to break the rear I would have thought i would have been able to do a mid 15 with my exhaust.

hehe breaking a rear isn't that hard..

I broke mine, had to have my tranny rebuilt twice, 4 clutches, one driveshaft, one rearend, and holy hell even a torque arm.


Keep the v8 rear axle in mind, I looked into it, it actually was cheaper to put in a used v8 Rear axle then fix my own, and I upgraded to 4-wheel disc, lsd, and 3.42s. Got the complete rearend and brakes shipped to me with an lt1 driveshaft for $408, had all the parts I needed for the swap except e-brake cables, and fluids(brake bleeding, and rear diffy fluid)
