  • WTF? 16.3@86?

I went to the track last night and I ran that time with all the mods that I have and I was pissed! I was expecting at least in the 15's. Does that time sound normal? On that time my RT was .6

    Thanks

wow i ran a 15.8 with an exhaust, no lsd or 3.42, you probally need to work on your launch. you should be in the mid to low 15's

your RT does not play any role in your ET. the timer starts when your car moves.. and BTW a .600 isnt bad at all, a perfect launch would be at .5

but yes you should be running much faster with your mods.. i ran a 15.935 today in 90+* weather with my 3.4L (just a cat, catback, and CAI as of right now, and the free stuff)

but not everyone is a naturally talented driver (not saying i am) but practice helps a lot, especially in a manual trans car. for example a friend of mine ran a 13.3 1/4 with a heads/cam/bolton LS1.. but he isnt the best driver, and another friend of mine has a very simmilar setup is runnin a 11.8 1/4 , but he is a pretty good driver (they both have 6 speeds)

Wow, sounds like you may need to learn to launch/shift a little better. With those mods I thought 14's would be cake. I see stock y87's pulling low low 15's.

I just got back from the track. My first timeslip was 17.6 and my last was 13.9 at 101.5.

I have a new respect for drag drivers. It isn't easy to launch.

I made about 12 total passes, I didn't use my n2o on half of them b/c I was practicing launching.

I started at 20psi in my rear tires and ended at 14psi.

There are too many variables to discuss on a board like this. Do what I did... get out there and do it over and over until you get it right.

                      It takes much practice.

Right there thats how I got most of my times not really because of my mods.

keep practicing, this past weekend i didnt even break 15's my first 4 passes, but i just put new suspension and had to try different launching techniques and i ended up running a 15.74 and if i had more time prob could have run a 15.6

I've just recently had a tune up and I usually shift at about 5 grand. Yea I have to tell ya that my driving isn't the best. Yea I gotta work on my driving a little bit. Sometimes when I shift, it feels like it's hard to get into gear when power shifting and I'm scared that I'm gonna miss a gear and screw up my tranny. I guess I gotta get over that fear huh?

                              Thanks for all the inputs
