16.3? Dont worry about it. once you get your 60 ft from 2.4 to a 2.2 that will put you at a solid 15.9. Still not great considering your mods. But a lot better than 16.3. Are you on stock rims? If not , 17 or 18 inch rims could also be killing a few tenths. That would put you at a 15.7. Then with more practice you could easily be seeing mid to low 15's. Just keep at it. You'll get there. Trust me, I'm trying to get there with you.

nope, no power pack, stock rims. I don't know, I'm just really pissed off because I feel like I put all my money in my ride and it's still slow. Hopefully it's just my driving and not my car.Black 99 M5 Camaro \"6BANGER\"<p>Sport Appearance Package, Whisper Lid, SLP Cold Air Kit, K&N Filter,Dynomax Custom Cat-Back, BMR STB, Jet Stage II Module, Centerforce Dual Friction Clutch, Hurst Shifter with Custom Short Stick, RKSport 2\" Drop Springs, SS Hood, Poly Tranny Mount & TA Bushing, SLP 3.42 Gears with LSD, All Amsoil Synthetic Lubricants

Depending where you live and your altitude/air density, that's not bad man. Around here I ran a best of 16.22, which is pretty good, considering stock/mildly modded (like a catback) LS1 WS6 T/A's are running 14.5, 14.6 depending on if they're A4/M6. It depends on where you race. Take a look at what other cars similar to yours are running. At the track I race at there's another 97 Firebird M5 stock running 16.4's. Not to mention every car you watch race that a car magazine will say should run low to mid 13's can only pull of 14.5's. That gives me a big hint as to factors my location has on my timeslip. People just always seem to jump on the "yea well you suck at driving" band wagon. Honestly, pay attention to what other people are running at the track, or try a different track a few hours away. That could be the only thing that's slowing up your time.1997 Firebird, A4,WS6 Ram air hood, edelbrock catback, SLP CAI, 85 dry shot<br />1981 Firebird Trans Am<br /><br /> <a href=\"http://members.cardomain.com/dreaded_hope\" target=\"_blank\">http://members.cardomain.com/dreaded_hope</a>

That trap speed is good for 15s. Practice your launch. That 1/8 bites.

Why do you think that nino? The only appearance mod I have is a SS hood. The sport appearance package came with the car when I bought it used.Black 99 M5 Camaro \"6BANGER\"<p>Sport Appearance Package, Whisper Lid, SLP Cold Air Kit, K&N Filter,Dynomax Custom Cat-Back, BMR STB, Jet Stage II Module, Centerforce Dual Friction Clutch, Hurst Shifter with Custom Short Stick, RKSport 2\" Drop Springs, SS Hood, Poly Tranny Mount & TA Bushing, SLP 3.42 Gears with LSD, All Amsoil Synthetic Lubricants

why do i think you have the power pack? because your car is slow (with that ET)
why do i think your car looks fast? because my SS hood made my car look fast and i didnt even have an appearnace package, so i know your car has to look faster than mine.
why do i think your money went into appearance? because SS hoods are costly, the appearance package you lucked out on and didnt have to pay for,and the RKSport 2" Drop Springs are not really for drag but for looks.
the rest: Whisper Lid, SLP Cold Air Kit, K&N Filter,Dynomax Custom Cat-Back, BMR STB, Jet Stage II Module, Centerforce Dual Friction Clutch, Hurst Shifter with Custom Short Stick, Poly Tranny Mount & TA Bushing, SLP 3.42 Gears with LSD, All Amsoil Synthetic Lubricants are good mods, but they are not record breaking mods.6s.......under the hood or under the belt, they just dont cut it.

Two things: Launch and rev.
Getting a better 60' will significantly improve your ET's... but it won't do much for your mph.
Your low trap speed indicates that you're shifting too soon. Let the engine breathe--shift at about 5,500. You may want to look into a shift light. For under $100 you can't beat it--I swear by mine.
Also with the opened up intake and exhaust that you have, you're making peak power even higher than stock. So your max hp is probably around 5300-5400 rpm.
Where did you race? Virginia Motorsports Park or Richmond Dragway in Sandston? Both are low-altitude tracks (150'), you should be capable of easy 14's there assuming you can launch properly.
Also, with 3.42's in a manual, you're in fourth by the end of the track, right? Working on your shifting should help that out a lot.
