  • so i have the best N/A M5 3.23 60'...but...(bad DR size!!)

    too LITTLE of tire today.
was cutting consistent 2.08 60' (which looks to be the best 60' for 3.23 M5's), but I ran out of gear. I hit the limiter 20 feet before the traps, and shifting to 4th just wasn't helping.
took about 3 mph off my trap speed.

    If I cut a 2.13-2.15 i normally go 14.9x. 2.16-2.20 is 15.0x. today i was cutting anywhere from 2.08x to 2.12x, and a best of 15.049. was consistent around 15.2 @ 89. I normally run 15.0 @ 92.

    crappy.

    I used my buddy's DR's off his 86 TA, 235/50/15s.
    not near enough tire.

don't ever admit to being stupid.

          sometimes we all overlook things.

but really, did you have any input?

na, i don't know what to tell you. you shouldn't be running out of gear at that trap speed.

              nah dude, I cut a 2.01 '60 w/ 3.23's and nittos.

And hitting the rev limiter b/f the line is why I had to go to 3.73's. Get a bigger tire, and you'll bust some good 14's.

huh? that doesn't make sense. learn a little before you *try* to input. or just make comments.

sorry guy, I was just going off the timeslip page as of yesterday. Guess I'm more ignorant than I thought. I thought I had mentioned looking at the timeslips page, or maybe I figured everyone would figure I based if off that. but again, my ignorant self...oh well.

No biggie. Just launching at 3500 rpm w/ 3.23's was as much as my clutch could take. So now I can launch at 3k w/ 3.73's.

consistent 2.10's with my m5 - 3.23's, and oh yeah, I was on 235\55\16 eagle ga stockers, what up suckas bwahahaha......im just kiddin around, that track just had hella prep, i mean hella. there were three or four f-body axles broke that night. i would like some DR's but a better clutch is gonna have to happen before stickys, i ran my 14.1 on streets so with nittos im seeing 13's. time to wait on that cold weather, texas sucks in the summer for running. 75% humidity and 100+ temps just dont work

Sorry I thought you had the wrong problem, I new someone else had a problem hitting the speed limiter.

Why doesn't shifting to 4th help?

I shift to 4th in my 3.4L with 3.42s, seems to work fine.

Do you not have enough midrange power to get the car going in 4th?
