Tonight was bada$$. I got my car to the track for the first time. It was me and my camaro. ALong with friends: Fabian3679 and his firebird, Sam who also has a firebird, and Paul and his Camaro. It was a lot of fun. My first race was against Fabian and he won of course with a 15.5370 but he has a lot more mods. Then I raced both Sam and Paul but sadly were not much comp. I raced a z28 in a bracket race but I lost because I brokeout. I dialed in 15.75 and I ran a 15.7453. The z28 dialed in at 12.50 and ran a 13.0088 I should have known something was wrong when I looked next to me just before the finish line and saw nobody. I thought about hitting the break but then thought that maybe he had a bad start. Anyway in the long run, I screwed my self and just ended up leaving the track on a non-winning race The night wasn't a total lost because one of the races before Bracket's started, raced a little ricer (make unknown) and smoked him sadly with a 15.8639 against his 16.7151. Poor Guy :( All in all, not a bad first time at the track.

Wow! That's really good for your first time. I went to our local drag strip for the first time last Friday and I had a blast. I didn't run as well as I had hoped (16.027). I was matched up with an 85 Mustang GT and I was all stoked to kick some *** . Apparently I got over anxious...I hit my rev limiter like 3X I can't wait to go back. :D2002 Camaro RS, SLP CAI, 80 Series Flowmaster, Whisper Lid, K & N Air Filter, Hotchkis STB, Hurst Competition Plus Shifter, Lou\'s Short Stick, Slotted/Cross Drilled Rotors, Kenwood Excelon KDC-X569, Viper Alarm System. 35% Tint all around

when you dial in , you put down an estimate that you think your car will run, but when u get a better time than that you are breaking out and that is badWhite 1992 3.1L V6 firebird
Here she is
----------------------------------

Which is why bracket racing sucks. I'd rather screw bracket racing and go for the best time possible then just try to run the same numbers all night.2001 Firehawk #155 of 504 -M6
437 RWHP / 404 RWTQ -Dynojet (heads/cam)
12.34 @114 mph 1.7 60\' (bolt-ons only)
12.47 @116 mph 2.0 60\' (street tires, heads/cam)

before this gets moved to the "other" forum , Bracket racing is good for slower cars, you don't have to worry about getting your a$$ handed to you by a bug w/a porsche engine doing heads up racing.
I'll probobly go to the track again before it closes for the season, gotta get a better time for the GP :D1978 Formula 461 in progress of being built

apparently u've either never raced much or havent ever bracket raced...bracket racing sounds boring but it is WAY more exciting than going for your best time over and over again...Black 1998 Pontiac Firebird A-4 swap
271.4rwhp/259.4rwtq NA
13.30@102.44
www.freewebs.com/wickedsix98

Yes bracket racing kicks *** . Usually I make my best runs of the night bracketing, just set your dial a little lower than your best and you'll be fine, but it still helps to pay attention on the top end and you really have to be on the ball at the tree.
Oh and of course I love it because of the hot chick at my track that races with me :D

I should have clicked to set it a little lower than what I told you because the other times we were running were right after we had gotten there and the drive was pretty far so the cars were pretty hot. When the bracket racing started our cars had had a lot of time to cool off. That's why you had your best run.2001 3.8L Firebird M5
Flowmaster 80 series,exhaust cutout,catco hi-flow cat,tbyrne WRA,whisper lid,K&N filter,BMR LCA\'s,Ram air H.O. hood,3.73 gears with LSD 17\" by 9 1/2\" TT2\'s
Rockford 300s with 2 12\" JL audio W3v2 subs and JVC HU

Well maybe if I hadn't taken the advice of a moron who had no idea what they were doing, then I would of been ok. I wanted to put a 15.7, but no Mr. Knowitall Fabian tells me to go with the 15.75. Good Call.....
.... Not :D
