• Alright the secret for my good track times...

IF you are wondering why I got my times with a relatively, not too modded 3.4L.

No its I am not supercharged with a hide-away license plate...

    this pic explains it...

    http://mustangeater825.50megs.com/DSC00083.jpg

THats not even all my timelsips, just ones that felt like I should keep. I have somewhere between 330-350 passes at the track, I went form a 17.1, to a 16.6 with no mods, just practice, puts some more mods, got ot the 16.3-4s, got to a 16.0 flats with not mods just practicing then pulled a 15.913 out of my butt. Then I got THE mod, was running 15.8s consitantly then practiced got to the 15.7s, played with the exhasut a little more, was running 15.6s consistent, and high 15.5s, then bam busted out a 15.456(my best) with just practice.

Most the trips to the track I stopped focusing on my 1/4 times, I set some goals for myself, they were improve, R/T and get decent times, even though the R/T does not affect your time, at the track I know I was going to have to pull people on the R/T to take them out in the 1/4(happened many times, beat plenty of guys that ran faster times but I pulled better, R/Ts, and one by a little) I needed ot practice a good R/T with a good launch, I could cut good lights but crappy launches(bogs, spins)

Then I startd focusing on the 1/8th and 60', but mainly the 60', I squeezed it down a 1/10th on the same tires. I leave the line nearly at 3500-4000 Rpms on street tires(crappy ones).

My goals were to beat a freind in a prelude running 16.4s, got there, then to hit 15s, then stop, then my goals went up to consistant 15s, then my goal was to become the fastest 3.4L(thats was still around, excluded Montigny, and Legros) on the timeslip page thats been around 4ever. At the time Tiago and Stockv6cam were not on it. I finally got there, then was at an oasis for awhile, some car problems arised. But still cruising the track, then I was goign for the best time on the list, I moved to second place and didn't bother submitting the time, I wanted 1st place, I maybe ran 20 runs of 15.66X back to back a tthe track on different nights one night I ran 15.661, 15.661, 15.664, 15.663(probably why I made it to top 12 out of 200 at SLP day my first time bracket racing)Then one night I got it down and pulled consitant 15.5s, and a 15.4, afterwards pulled some 15.5s pretty considtantly as well.

Don't worry about the top end of the track so much, our cars are slow enough you jsut floor it and wait for the end of the track. Break down your runs and see where you need to imporve and attack it.

I have hit everyone of my goals I ever set, excpet for a 1.99X 60'(best is a 2.027)

Every little teeny sqeul at the line or slow shift is hurting your time, we are tlaking 1/10ths of a second, we are used to 1/4 mile time and think a tenth is a big anount but think in your head what it really is, and what you do down the track that causes you to waste them, not accelerating.

Alright jsut cleaning my room and found my timeslips and figured I would post this for people to read, seems 90% of the peopel posting there times, I coudl see a few 1/10ths improvement with practice.

You're going to need more than a few 1/10ths next time my track opens over here ;)

We will see... having a car that puts out more power isn't the only thing you need to win a race ;)

Anyways I will still always hold the stock, heads, cam, motor, exhaust manifolds and computer record

LT1 rear axle and driveshaft, just ask STMike when we went for a ride in his car then went to mine, but I don't think he really posts here.

really woke my car up and helped my 60's like you would not believe.

I keep waiting for you guys to do something! My car been to the track maybe 4 times since last december when I hit my time, and ran like crap most times. I am kinda out of the game but no one has stepped up to knock me off the crown(Tiago doesn't count, he is turboed )

                  Go for it!

My motor is bone stock, except for bolt ons, ecxhasut manifolds are stock, and the PCM is stock.
