    Untrue....

if after tuning with the MAFT dynoing the the car with the wide band...if its 13.0 across the board it is what it is...it isnt richer because of gearing or shifting. Dyno sheet is on my website to prove the point.......

I agree... It should be the same under load at WOT throughout the RPM in any gear.

Ok, so is it possible to tune the car decently without a MAFT+ or any other type of programming?? I thought the adjustable FMU would work fine to at least get a decent air/fuel ratio that won't be too rich. Or is this going to be a waste of money ? Should I just stick with autotap for these basic readings? or should I still go with wideband tuning on the dyno? opinions?

i think if your running FI or any kind of power adder.. a wideband kit would be one of the best investments.. ~400 bucks is kind of steep.. but you can possibly squeeze the most hp possible out with your current app if the air/fuel ratio is good.

        im gonna do it eventually.

There are only 3 ways that I know of to accurately adjust A/F while on the Wideband. MAFT, PCM Editing or a stand alone fuel management system....

At least that Thats the only choices on the LS1. With our limited means of PCM Editing as it is chances of having that done on the fly are probably not going to happen. So, unless you are running a stand alone fuel system I would get the MAFT and dial it in with the wideband.
