• New Best Times

Went back to the track tonight for the second time. First time was a few months back. Got better times this time. It was a lot cooler tonight than it was then so I think that helped, as well as knowing how to launch the car. 60' times got better. The only thing new I have on the car is a 180 degree thermostat and a manual fan switch. I think those two things really helped my consistency since I was able to keep the car near the same temperature for each run. Old best was a 10.33. New best is a 10.165. Got 3.08's with an open diff, CAI, and a air lid.

Two best runs:
R/T: .590
60': 2.402
330: 6.653
1/8: 10.180
MPH: 69.95

R/T: .650
60': 2.380
330: 6.620
1/8: 10.165
MPH: 69.92

Beat a Mustang 5.0 tonight. There were two 5.0's there and they were both running right around 10.4. Those are faster than that aren't they?? The track does have some traction problems. You have to drive on a gravel road to get to it and the dust from the road gets on the track. The people that run the track say the road will be paved next spring. I think I can do better on my 60' times since I spun my tires on every run. I think it is the track though. Because sometimes on the street I practice my launches and I don't spin my tires on the street like I do at the track.

Sorry for the rambling post, I was just happy with my times tonight. Maybe I will break down over the winter and buy some 3.42's and a LSD. I have the money I am just a cheapskate, which I guess could explain why I have the money

It depends on the 5.0, but generally they run faster. Still, those are good times, especially with 3.08s. Get those 3.42s and lsd, you will see much better times.
