• Top five ET's are Autos on the timeslip page

After studying the timeslip page for the umpteenth time... I noticed that the top 5 runners are autos. Just thought I'd point that out, cuz I thought it was interesting
    2004 CE Corvette 10.86@132mph
1996 Supercharged/Nitrous Camaro RS (For Sale)

The power of the torque converter and automatic really shine the faster you go at the drag strip.

A verter makes a HUGE difference, I think its one of the best bang for the buck mods you can do on an auto f-body.

No one mod will give you as much gain as a good torque converter would for the same price excluding power adders.

Basically an auto is mroe consistant in the drag strip, well known...

But then again... People with the top time V6 f-bpodies put a decent amount of money into there cars which means they probable well optioned cars stock, which in f-bodies most likely means a Auto. When my dad went dhoping for his 2k, he looked for 6 months till he found a decently optioned 5-speed camaro, he had to sacrifice t-tops to get it.

Another thing to think about is T5, is a huge piece of crap tranny that cannot hold any sort of torque. Hopefully its life died with BorgWarner being bought out by Tremec, and the f-body dieing. My dad has offered me his 00 3.8L for a insanely wonderful price, not sure I want it though, probably give me the same nightmare of problems that my car has given me.

A torque converter is nice, but with a 5-speed, you have the option of various stall speeds, and launches stock with no mods. But when you get to a point, the T5 won't hold up any more(hence Tiago doing a TH700R4 swap)

I will still always prefer a manual, you can put the car in the powerband you want when you want it. Problem is if I stick with GM cars, will probably be stuck with an auto.

Either way I forgot who said it, but "in an Auto, you don't drive you steer the car, at the dragstrip you go in a straight line" and I would like to add the fact a brick can replace the driver.

Dude go to my web site. In my N20 pass I don't have more than 2K in the car..

I was basically an intake/header/converter car with weight reduction.

You borrow a full set of wheels and thats about 1K in mods.

Autos are top 5 because they're the bizzomb diggity!!
Check out LS1tech's ETs. The top 7 are Autos, and out of the top 20, there is only 1 manual tranny.

Yeah, but 2 of the top 3 na cars are sticks. And they are no where to be seen on the power adder. Throw a 100 shot at them and.....the world may never know.

Also check the 3.4 stats, sticks again.

You have to admit that an auto with nitrous is an easy way to go fast.

Magnus, did you have 3.42s for the nitrous run or is that a typo?

its no typo. My car was so mild back then.

The faster you are, the more an auto will shine.

i know the car had alot more in her, but spraying to 6500 rpms with a cam on stock springs slowed me down, but i still hit 12's
