So last time out, on a hotter day, I ran a 12.11 @ 112 on a 1.69 60'. Since then I have added a 160* thermostat, a fan switch, a poly trans mount, subframe connectors, and control arms. Tonight, on a cooler day with about the same humidity, I ran a best of 12.2-something @ 112, with a 1.77 60'. So how is it that I do a bunch of suspension mods and run a whole tenth off on my 60'??? All night 1.77, 1.78, and a couple 2.0s! Maybe I should put the stock control arms back on and try again???

Are you using street tires or some form of drag tires?
You probably just need to learn how to launch your new setup.
I am not saying you can't launch, because a 1.7 is still way better than my best 60', but I know when you change something, it takes a little while to get used to how it behaves.1997 Chevrolet Camaro v6 - 13.8@104MPH

subframe connectors added a little weight. the rear suspension is now stiffer than it was, which might be the reason behind the lower 60 ft. time. perhaps something else contributed. I wouldn't worry. ur 1/4 time is still very fast and ur 60 ft. didn't go up too much. just keep at it and maybe u need to re-learn how to launch the car. like 3.8camaro said.2001 Arctic White Firebird
More mods than I\'m allowed to list!

Still damn good times! I'm thinking the humidity had a say in it. You're ET's/mph were pretty much the same.2004 CE Corvette 10.86@132mph

i slowed down my first about 4 passes w/the new suspension, i put a TA and poly bushings in the LCA's and PHR, i normally ran 15.8's at this track w/stock setup and my first 4 passes i couldtn even run a 16, then i lowered my tire PSI to 31 lbs. and ended up running a 15.74 which is .13 quicker than my old best w/street tires in the summer, then this past weekend i bettered it to a 15.50 which is better than i ran in March, so keep practicing on the launch, it'll come around...Black 1998 Pontiac Firebird A-4 swap
271.4rwhp/259.4rwtq NA
13.30@102.44
www.freewebs.com/wickedsix98

There was a bit of sarcasm is the title of the thread. I know it wasn't the control arms that slowed me down. I've always run better times when hotlapping my car... the 160* thermostat might have done it for me. Might be going back to the 195* soon.-Travis
99 Trans Am, Pewter, A4 Forged, stalled, and cammed
85 Buick Regal WH1 T-Type It\'d be cool if it ran...
94 Camaro 3.4, Teal, M5 The daily beater
