• Things I hate about the TRACK!!

1. Staging lane lines are toooo long.
2. Car overheats when sitting in staging lanes too long at idle.
3. Can't keep autotap running while in staging lanes because car WILL overheat.
4. Can't keep nitrous bottle warm when car is off in the staging lanes and then, SURPISE! Your lane is moving, you're next, and the bottle pressure is LOW!!
5. Nasty track dude yells at everybody who doesn't listen to him.
6. Too much burnout smoke from the full-blown racecars stinks and causes cancer.
7. You only get one chance in an hour to get a good ET.
8. You can't get a good ET when your car goes sideways for the first 60 ft.
9. After putting 20 carlengths on an import, they catch up to you (well after the traps)and try to pass you on the return road.
10. All this, and your ET still sucks, so you get back in the staging lanes and do it all over again!!!

Get to the top end of the track, and you throw a belt, and the mofo overheats before you get back.
Luckily, overheat for me was about 230.

hehe my car likes to be codl when I run, I sometiems like it when the car gets to sit for like 45 minutes...

Overheat? hehe, I run, then on the return road pop my hood, to get a little vented air, get my slip drie back to staging lanes, open the hood fully put ice on it and push the car. Race a 1/4, push it 1/2 mile

Thing I hate is when someone breaks and closes dow the track for like an hour, now that sucks...

Shirl, do you have a 160 thermo and fan switch? Those 2 things alone should keep temps down even when sitting in traffic.

hahaha.... Maybe you need to try another track. Everytime I've gone to Rockingham it seems I get screwed like that. 1 run an hour sucks.

So I go to another track, where I can usually get some hot lapped runs in at the beginning and end of the TNT session.

But a fan switch and 160 T-Stat are a must.

if the lines are long when i go, i turn my car off, leave the high speed fans on and push the car, its not that heavy, just put ur shoulder into the pillar and push...my car is about .1-.2 quicker when its ice cold, i think im gonna buy a 160* thermo w/in the next few days now that i think about it...

Cecil County Raceway is exactly the same, it drives me nuts. One night I only got 3 runs over a 6 hours period. It seriously makes me question if I even want to deal with going anymore. I'm trying a new track this weekend.

Jsut have to find the right nights my track can be like that, once the 6 staging lanes(not including bikes, was backed up off the pavement int the grass, past the 1/8th mile mark, and there is a 100 yard turn towards the start line. So 100 yards + 1/8th mile was how long it was, only got 2 runs that night.

Try for wednesdays, if your track has a Sunday funday, go the next wednesday will be dead. I went a wedensday after a Import day on sunday and got 17 runs, probalby coudl have gotten 25 but I didn't want ot hotlap the car.

WItchita international is great compared to what you all are saying.

I show up at 7pm friday night and get 15-25 passes by 11pm. The staging lanes are never more than 5 cars long, and they launch people one after another. I never sit in staging lanes more than 2 minutes.

I usually do about 3 passes and let the car cool for 45 minutes, but I could hot lap just about all night long.

THe only crappy thing is the pitt area. It is a big muddy grass field.

I'm willing to bet you have a problem with your cooling system. Grant it I don't have near the amount of work you do, but I can let my car idle all day long and it won't over heat, and if my fan switch is on low, it'll sit right around 180. If i put the switch on high, and just sit, i've watched the temp on autotap go down to 160*...and I only have a 180* thermostat . When I was on vacation earlier this year, I was pretty much WOT in the moutains through all the twistys for a good 2-3 hours and never had a problem.

I would make sure you're not leaking somewhere, or maybe do a coolant flush...
