  • first time to the track

    i am going to the track for the first time tonight. my friend who has a 1998 dodge neon r/t wants to race me. i have a 2001 v6 3.8 camaro. the only performance part that i put on her so far is a american thunder flowmaster exhause system. what is my out come going to be. and also what should my 1/8 and 1/4 mile time be. i need advice fast.

        i am a 2001 v6 3.8 camaro with only the flowmaster exhaust system, he is a 1998 dodge neon r/t dohc pacesetter exhaust system and a aem intake. what else do you need to know?

            Both 5-speeds?

            I think you will edge him out with ease...

            But you have to launch and drive it decently...

            Practice some launches ont he street...

            Rev up the motor, ride the clutch a little once you get moving a little, let the clutch out a little faster and floor it.

            keep practicing you are going to want ZERO spinning of the wheels, then when you go to the track rev it up a little higher at the track because you will get alot better traction at the track.

            Any chance you knwo how to powershift? I also think this woudl be a good time to do it.

            Also I woudl clean out your car as best you can, maybe consider taking out your jack and spare.

            When it comes to racing friends heads up at the track, you pull every trick out of your butt to win [img]smile.gif[/img]

              You should be fine, my friends 5 speed RT went a best of 16.4 you should be somewhere in the 15s so dont worry to much, just have fun at the track. And where you goin? atco? id kill to go to atco [img]tongue.gif[/img]
