It's capable of, and I do know what I'm talking about. I never said anything as extreme as you mentioned earlier. I just said that Merlin could run mid to low 12's with a good converter and tires. I never said that, an LS-1 car can run mid to low 12's on a stock exhaust, merlin has a cutout on his as well as a ported throttle body. A stock LS-1 engine is capable of mid to low 12's with light modding period. You need to stop trying to be "Mr. I know it all because I own one" and give other people the benefit of the doubt once in a while. You obviously aren't capable of that. You should've scrolled up and read everything I said. The fact is I read a lot of information on LS-1's as well as the L-36 I have in my car at present. If you want to sit up on your high horse and judge everything that is said by everyone on here then go ahead. You are showing a vast lack of maturity, and class in your crass statements, putting words in peoples mouths and trying to make everyone look like a fool. GROW UP!!!

Ok....I appreciate Everyone's comments here but I need to make some things clear....

I ran a 13.10 with F1's, stock tuning and a 194 thermostat. LS1's run hot as it is and found that I was getting knock retard. The DA was about 1000 ft so that did not help matter's

With tuning and a tire I will get the car down to a 12.8. Then we will see what happens.

I am not a stranger to LS1's so I think good things will come out of this car.

I am having the car Edited tonight for new track times on thursday 10/23......

        I will keep everyone posted......

I will bet my car he will not lose an entire second with a 4000 stall the way the car sits now. 3800 lbs, stock manifolds, stock 2.75 catback, stock 3.23 gears...yeah...12.3 on JUST a converter and a nitto...no way...13.3 to 12.3 with one 900 mod...unless that mod is a used nitrous kit, he wont lose an entire second. Trust me on this one. I know from expereince, i kinda own the car and i kinda have a lot of mods...just kinda ;)

I wanted to respond to this quote but an update to my last post earlier today....I have had the car tuned with edit!!!! :D

I will be at the track tomorrow nite....Will post times after.

Now, For the above quote.....I did not run a 13.3 I ran consistent 13.1's so its not a full second I need to work towards.......If you know so much about LS1's then you know that with the F1's our 60 ft times suck until we put better tires on the car....I will hit 12.9's minimum tomorrow nite with the F1's....therefore with a better tire and a converter I WILL Hit a 12.3 timeslip....this is not an argument this is a FACT....I am also on LS1.tech and I work with JPR inc. For anyone who knows who JPR is then you know that I am far from making statements I can not back up....

Point being...we are here to have fun so stop assuming what I will or will not run based on your own cars not making the number.

camarozach, how much money have you won from street racing so far? I'm just curious if it's not much or you lost you don't have to say. I heard of people betting alot on street races.

I'll make a bet without tuning he wouldn't reach that 12.3 with just tires and stall. Tuning does a ton - you fagmos. With proper editing, your ET will drop significantly. Zach was expressing this I'm sure.

I don't doubt you'll hit that number with the verter, tuning, and a new tire. Those free mods will help as well. Headers and an LS6 Intake would be in your best interest, I'm sure.

Oh, and Timbo..whatever. Way to own yourself, don't use UBB too much, do yah?

My last and final point on this whole matter is. I never said a car could do it with just a converter, and tires. I knew when I made my post about the converter and tires he had a ported throttle body, and a cutout. I figured that he knew enough to get his car tuned. Generally, anytime you port a throttle body you would have to edit the PCM to handle the increase in Air flow into the engine. If Zach would have stopped for a second, and been mature in his approach. He might've understood that I do know a bit more then he thinks I do. I was wrong in how I stated things, as I thought pcm tuning was common knowledge among LS-1 owners. Anyway no hard feelings.
