  • New 12 second V6!

Ok, so it wasn't in an F-body, but it was a V6 none the less and it was a really good friend of mine. I thought you guys might want to hear about it with this being a V6 board and all.

    My buddy has a 1992 4.3L V6 S10 Blazer. '92 was the first year of the Vortec V6. Anyways, tonight he ran a new best of 12.911 @ 104.xx mph w/ a 1.8 60'.

The engine itself is stock...a valve cover has never even came off.

Mods include: wet nitrous kit with a 150 shot, long tube headers to 3" exhaust to a flowmaster muffler, TCI streetfighter 10" torque converter, zexel-torsen LSD w/ 3.73 gears, K&N FIPK kit, underdrive pulleys, and nitto drag radials.

Here is the most recent picture that I have of the truck. It was taken a week or so ago actually.

I know there is a big pole in the way, but I was actually taking pictures of something else and just thought...hey, I'll take a pic of the blazer real quick.

I don't have any pics of the engine bay or nitrous setup at the moment and the parents are out of town with the digital camera. I'll try to get some up soon. Nothing fancy though...wet side has a line coming off of the schrader valve which is right behind the intake manifold. The line goes into the fuel solenoid, then goes into one of those Y-fittings/nozzles where it joins with the nitrous line. The nozzle is in the CAI right before it goes into the throttle body. He also has a nice 15lb bottle, but it doesn't usually last him long, lol.

The truck is pretty light. Lighter than we thought it would be. It started life out as a Shelby County Code Enforement vehicle, lol. You should have seen it when he first got it. It was sitting stock height with some really crappy wheels with hubcaps. When you look at it right, you can still see where all the numbers and decals were pulled off. Being a service vehicle, it only has the essentials. It has 2 seats and no power options. It weighs less than either of my cars!
