This is in response to the "Attn: Stefan" post.
This is addressed to two people: Shirl and the mobs of people out there who decided to go on a Stefan and Redbird (mostly Stefan) slam fest.

Shirl then replied but did not answer those two very basic questions. James was absolutely correct (thank you, by the way). I am a numbers guy. The reason we are so anal about performance figures, dyno numbers, blah blah is because accurate and truthful data on the 3.8 is very hard to come by. I also had a little speech about why the Timeslips page--and this site as a whole--was created. Not for bragging rights... but to share information. To inspire and educate.
So, when Shirl did not answer that very simple question I started to get politely suspicious. Notice this timestamp:

This is why myself and others are asking what size jet you used. Why be secretive? Do you feel like you are cheating?

I used the word cheating because nitrous owners are often called cheaters. Some diehard hotrodders refer to nitrous as "wimp juice" for people who do not know how to build a real engine. That school of thought teaches that a real mechanic does not need to rely on a chemical.
Now, when Shirl continues to elude the question, I finally got angry this morning. Not as much angry as disappointed, but still angry.

I stand by my statements. AT NO TIME DID I CALL B.S. I simply asked for information, and I was both shocked and disappointed when none was provided.
Now, for those of you who like to cause trouble and turned my simple technical questions into an admin slam fest:
1. My times have nothing to do with this
2. Please go to www.projectvirus.com . I provide more comprehensive information on my car's buildup than any other V6 F-Body owner in history. Don't tell me I'm secretive. We offer a ****ing downloadable install manual for our supercharger kit--when was the last time Mach Performance or Powerdyne offered you that?
What I did was say "here's how to build a supercharged car. I don't have any decent times to report at this time". What Shirl did was say "I set the world record. But I won't tell you how I did it." As far as full and fair disclosure is concerned, she is doing exactly the opposite of what I did. So don't give me crap about non-disclosure.
Conclusion: There is absolutely nothing wrong with asking for tech information about how someone did what they claim they did. As many of you that call B.S. all the time, why are you all of a sudden kissing Shirl's *** ? This is not a personal argument, it is a policy dispute. I believe the record-setters should do their duty to the rest of the V6 community and share what they did to achieve that time. To inspire and educate. If you believe otherwise, then you shouldn't even be posting questions like "what modifications should I do to make my car faster". Secretive thinking like that defeats the purpose of automotive performance message boards.
Done now.
