  • new best but something still isn't right?

    went to RCR/SAR last night ran a new best and new best mph... a couple 15.0's, a couple 14.9's and the best was as follows...

    RT ------->.5381
    60' ----->2.0479
    330' ---->6.0903
    1/8ET --->9.4416
    1/8MPH ->76.14
    1000ET ->12.3883
    1000MPH ->NONE
    1/4ET -->14.9027
    1/4MPH ->93.65

    i feel that thats a damn good mph but why isn't my et going down? i also had a couple of 1.99 60', car felt good, i just dont know why it isn't fast thani think it should be? temp was about 50 and about 15-20%humidity. i was launching around 2000-2500 rpms... any input would be great, thanks...

        your problem is that you are missing 2 cylinders
        6s.......under the hood or under the belt, they just dont cut it.

                Hmmm.... you are good on low end and up to about the 1/8, but after that the times go bad.... Anyway that it could be a tune-up issue, or perhaps an exhaust clog? I am just guessing right now.... Any strage behavior by the car? How does it feel?

                    it may be a tuning thing but i have no way to tune it right now, thats a good point, as for exhaust clog, ha CIA headers and a cutout, i dont think there are any clogs, car feels good, no strange behavior...

                      i did my previous runs were(these were a while back)

                      60' 2.2
                      1/4 ET 14.92
                      1/4MPH 92

                      and now after 2800 stall and dr's
                      60' 1.99
                      1/4 ET 14.90
                      1/4MPH 93.65

                      so i know there has been a gain, because of over a mile and a half gain! but only .02 on the ET, i think that it might be a tuning issue, any other thoughts?

                          It could be new magical knock in 3rd gear after the torque converter was installed. I have seen it happen to a different car... maybe you should consider autotapping it. Hmmm... but then again you're mph isn't too bad.

                            yup 93 octane, and i was also thinking that it could be the converter locking up thats slowing me down up top too? i was going to attempt the torque converter lockup switch but i didn't get around to it before i went to the track...

                              What psi in the dr's? Too low will kill top end but you could still get a decent mph.. at least that's what i found last year.
