alright I made a post trying to get some idea on stock shift points but no luck, I will delete it, I was hoping to keep my stock tiems a little hidden (have a race lined up soon ;) )
But I figure this might get some attention so people will help me out, I know my car has more, I was all over the shift points, nothing precise.
I copy/pasted this from the predator forums, wonder what I coudl do icing the intake, and maybe some mods.
"Alright must set the record straight, this car is 100% bone stock, I replaced the paper air filter, thats it, no weight reduction, no modifications of any kind. No ice, or any other track prep except tire pressure.
2000 NBM 3.8L 5-speed Camaro
Currently has 33,500 miles still on the stock tires(very dead)
1st run
R/t. .763
60' 2.344(I launched it real soft not used to open diffy again)
330 6.523
1/8 9.992
mph 70.94
1000 12.965
1/4 15.466
mph 90.24
I was very surprised with the time I ran, I really only expected a 15.6 at best out of the car
2nd run
R/t .645
60' 2.249(launched a little harder)
330 6.429
1/8 9.908
mph 70.64
1000 12.893
1/4 15.402
mph 89.58
On this run I short shifted 2nd-3rd, and actually went into 4th. I think it was instinct like, my shifts felt like when I shifted on my old 3.4, w/3.42s, except it was all out of the powerband.
3rd run
R/T 0.841
60' 2.196(decent launch I think I can hit one a little harder)
330 6.402
1/8 9.873
mph 70.82
1000 12.853
1/4 15.355
mph 90.25
This run the car was sort of hot lapped, I ran 9 minutes after the previous lap. I think I could have gotten a nice time if the car had time to cool a bit. It stays really hot for awhile, way more then my 3.4L used to.
4th and best Time
r/t 0.446(other guy had a .2 redlight, made me jump seeing him leave)
60' 2.249(little spin and wheel hop, I wanted to get a jump out)
330 6.418
1/8 9.870
mph 71.31
1000 12.831
1/4 15.321
mph 90.65
After tonight I think the car may even have a 15.2, and a 15.1 does not seem unreasonable, this is dead stock! I didn't even ice the intake which actually stays pretty blazing hot between runs.
I was surprised of what I was able to pull out of this car, especially after owning it for a week and the powerband is completely wierd to me. Wasn't expecting such good times my first time out. Hell just only being to the track like 3 times in the last 7 months I think was gong to hurt me."
