• Finally did it!!!!

Hey guy I just got back from the track and had to share with everyone! Well, the weather was very good tonight and my first run of the night was a 15.32@87.75mph. Not to bad considering I had just got there and the car had NO time to really cool down. Well, sitting there thinking I finally got the idea to just let the car sit and cool then remove the serp belt and see what she would do. I did so and it resulted in a 14.93@89.73mph!!! When I saw the time slip my face was like then :D Needless to say I am very happy seeing a 14 second time slip even though I had to remove the belt to do it.

Old Best on Nov. 20th - 15.25@88.60mph
New Best on Dec. 17th (serp belt removed)
60': 2.083
330: 6.118
1/8: 9.497
MPH: 72.90
1000: 12.423
1/4: 14.93
MPH: 89.73

Hey just have a quick question. Does anyone know what the record is for a car that has a stock motor and 3.08 open diff rear? I also mean stock as in the stock heads, cam (entire valve train), intake manifold, exhaust manifolds, etc. A cold air system, just a muffler and things like that I dont consider a real "engine" mod.

No, I didn't have any problems with the battery at all. And like you said if you let it really cool there isn't much to worry about temp wise. All I did was let the car completly cool, had some friends push me all the way up to the burnout box, started the motor, cleaned the tires, made the run and drove to the time slip booth. After I got the time slip I shut the motor off and put the belt back on and drove home.

So how quikly did you heat up with the belt off? I have done some test runs and it made me a little nervous to do it. I am defintely going to try it next friday if I can get off work.

To be honest my temp guage only was at just a little after the 160* mark. That was after I did the run, drove to the time slip booth and then shut the car off. Couldn't see down at the end so seeing the temp like it was I drove the car to the staging lanes where there was more light.
