  • Keith, regarding your ABS delete

I saw the 2 pic's on your site.

Could you give me a list of your parts you used, along with sizes of bits please?

Since we have the same year car this would make it very easy for me to do this.

Do you also have pic's of what you removed?

Before I do this I wanted to have all available information so there are no screw ups on my part.

    Thanks in advance

I'll also weigh it and post results

      weigihs about 12-14 lbs.

I picked up both a metrick and standard flaring tools from murrays..

the rear just needs to be converted and driven to the master.

the fronts need to be T'd

I used 3/8'ths or 3/16, i forget which the small one was for the T setup.. just flare all those normally.

For the rear it has to be convered, its a big metric line going into a small one.. If you could get a 3/8 or 3/16 (forget which one) and drill out the hole just large enough so you could fit it onto the tube before you flare it that would work ideal. I just went with the larger size up but there is space between the tube and the fitting, it leaked at first.. then self sealed... go figure.

Its really a huge pita... my car was down for a week or so while I did it... flaring that big line is VERY VERY difficult... VERY difficult.

Every time you try to flare the big one, it just gets pushed through your tool. Try using some emory cloth or something around it before you clamp down to help hold it in place.

This is the best advice I can give really its a very hard process to describe.

Do you have pic's of what you removed?

Also, do you have pic's of your !abs system?

I would really like to see them.

I couldn't see much on your website.

        Up close shots would help!

Also, what did you do abhout the electrical connectors and wiring to the ABS computer?

On the website is what i have of pics.

Connectors just get unplugged anda nice ABS light in the dash is lit.

I removed that whole ABS unit module thing.. then cut the lines to fit so I could route them as I wanted.

Ok, so it is just a matter of various flaring of brake lines, which you gave me a heads up on a PIA

As for the ABS unit, unplugs and removes a decent amount of weight.

Then as for the lose wires..... safe to cut them back, trim em, then cover in electrical tape for safety??

I already have the ABS light.

            Thanks!

When I do it I'll take lots of pic's

Much appreciated for all the info already!

Just tape over the connectors and push them away.

Do I need to get some spare brake line also?
                If yes, what size?

And, of course, blead the complete system after.

I didn't need any spare line, I just cut the current lines to fit and mated them up as if the ABS unit wasn't there.
