"Spooling" the blower? That happens automatically. All you do is press the gas pedal. Duh.
Maybe that's the way you do it!

LOL...good one..there's a little more to it believe it or not...oh, nevermind..hey, now that I come to think about it, maybe that's why my right foot is so muscular and my left foot looks like a shriveled piece of beef jerky...

I'm talking about the launch here...Damn, if I could only keep that wheel straight, then my a** end wouldn't kick out and send the car sideways anymore...why didn't I think of that?!!

If your car is properly tuned you don't have to worry about that.
Actually, you should be concerned about that EVERY TIME you go take a run down the 1320.

For a moderator you say some stupid things. its ok for you to undermine navyblue and make a post that will start a bunch of bs. Actually if you knew anything about bracket racing in autos or had any experience with autos you would know there is skill, you have to dial in so its not just the light, you have to run as close to your dial in as possible sometimes, now with a stall converter, and many other mods, the more you have usually the harder it is to run consistent. You contradict yourself many times, you bit** at magnus and others for saying " buy a v8 to go fast" but yet you say the same words. just face reality, yes you can make a v6 fast but you can do more to a v8 than a v6 so in the end the v8 will always be faster. like shirl said, the best way to win heads up is a full blown drag car. most people with a brain realize racing with a v6 can be fun and challenging but in reality its far less impractical to race heads up with a 3.8 fbody. Im sure most people realize their v6 isnt a real drag car, thats ridiculous, but some people have made theirs fast, for a v6. some people like relaxing when they take a drive, not shifting all the damn time, some peoples opionons are they just dont like manuals, i work to pay for my car, dont wanna come home and work to drive the thing. say what you want, anyone who actually bracket races knows its fun, you say in one post people come here to feel good about having a v6, well some people feel good about bracket racing, having a fair chance to beat v8s that would tear you a knew a-hole in heads up. stop being a hypocrit. I think you have penis envy towards owning a standard, and are obviously biased
around here even if you race heads up with your v6, a v8 will always beat you, there just too much you can do to a v8 and they already have the advantage, you dont see john force and those guys racing an alcoholed v6 vs v8, their basically the same ci motors. if you raced heads up with v8s, yeah you might beat a few but 99% would kick your *** , and then you would still whine!

Ok I think we can all say here that Stefan just has no clue to what in the hell he is talking about! I mean bracket racing takes NO skill?!?!?!? That's like trying to say air to breath! What kind of stupid comment is that? I mean for someone to say that they don't see the skill needed to win a bracket race it can mean only a few things. Either they have no idea what bracket racing is (no idea of what they are talking about), they have never tried to run in a bracket race before, or they are...well...just ignorant!!! My family has been involved in the NHRA since the 50's (starting with my father) and I personally have been involved since I was born. The first time I was at a NHRA event I was 6 weeks old and have loved the sport ever since. Weather it be heads up or bracket! And still to this day I'm learning new ways to beat the people I go up against.

quote:
You're driving in a straight line. Just keep the wheel straight... that's not rocket science.

Oh you think its that easy when the car you're running cuts a LOW 1.3x 60ft time? I mean my '69 Camaro is not that fastest by any means. An it takes a lot of concentration to think about what you're going to do on the track, what your going to dial-in, trying to cut a good light, making sure you do the something every run (I mean how far you roll into the stage bulb can make or break your run), watching all the gauges in the car as you are making a pass along with shifting, and on top of that trying to keep the car in the groove! That's just a short list of how many thing are going on in a drivers head.
My offer still stands. Since your so into heads up running. Meet me at OSW someday and I'll show you why you need bracket racing when you run my '69 with your little car!
Again I don't mean to be a jerk but you need to give credit where credit is due!

Why thank you Shirl!
I have been very happy with the car since I put it together. I mean the motor I wanted something a little different and didn't really wan to have to run 110oct or higher fuels. So, this motor only has 9.6:1 compression and has only had 92oct in it. Much nicer fuel bills when I go to the track and only have to buy $1.70something/per gal gas.
A little info on the my '69 Camaro SS...
502ci, 9.6:1 compression, aluminum GM performance parts heads (ones used on ZZ502), Stock ZZ502 GM Performance parts block, rods (forged steel with 7/16 bolts), and pistons (forged aluminum), engine was internally balanced, Custom grind solid roller cam (Crower), 1050 Dominator Carb, Edelbrock 454-O intake, 2-speed glide (1.91:1 first gear and a 1.00:1 second), 4.30 rear gears, and 32x14x15 goodyear slicks. See, with a manual you get a workout on both legs. That's how I stay so buff! :arnold:

My '69 is Inferno Red Pearl Metallic with Super White racing strips. Same paint style as the original 1969 cars. I'll have some pics up on the net asap. The only thing I can do right now is e-mail pics of it.

i think ur a baby cause u cant drive ur car. drag and braket is always about consistancy. if u think u can win drag comp. by just being fast, than u need to get out of the racing world. cause by finals, if ur car isnt running like it did when u first screamed past that finish line, than ur nothin. think before ur go posting stupid coments like that

stefan!!!!!
if u think that keeping a car straight at a drag strip is easy then u have obviouslty never drivena fast powerful car. ur probably the person all the rednecks laugh at when u line up and ur just pissed about it.
