• Ran for the first time this morning

Put in a few runs to see what the car can do when I don't have to brake for the next corner in an autocross..

2.178 60'
15.493 1/4
89.39 MPH

This is at nice 3000' altitude Tucson. NHRA factors would slip me into the 14's.

Running my Kumho 712's, no attempts at weight reduction - stealth box and spare tire left in, 3/8 tank gas.

Almost had a chance to go heads up against AZv6camaro. He was running about a second behind, his open diff really hurt his launches, and he had heavier rims and tires on. Maybe in a couple weeks we'll run, then one of us will get to post in Kill Stories

yea my best time of the day was a 16.546, i was actually suprised, i didnt think I would run that with the 18s on. zlexiss has a really nice bird and would have spanked me in a heads up race for sure. Hopefully next time i make it out ill have the lsd in ill definitly throw on my 16s. I finaly started to hook up a little bit and the times started to drop, but ill have to wait until next time to see how it goes. Overall it was a great day tho, I have a bunch of pics if you wanna see any.

Tires are 245/50-R16, mostly worn, stock rims. About 28 psi on the best run. Gave them a mild burnout (no water) just to clean the gravel off. I launched at 3500 with a touch of spin, but nice out from there. Grip was a lot better new on these, or else I'm just driving harder lately

I'm looking at some nice light 17x8 or 17x8.5's (centerlines will be a pound or two lighter than stock 16x8's in those sizes) so I can get some decent tires like Falken Azenis or Kumho MX.

Thanks for the compliments.. So should I put up the actual time on the slips page and be like #90, or be around #40 to get gauged with all you sea level east coast monsters?

Awesome job Jeff...

I need to run my car N/A again. I haven't run it NA in a LONG time.

I wanted to go to the track very soon, but I just blew something up with my clutch... No pressure in the pedal at all.

I am PRAYING for 14s N/A with cam and gears.
But I haven't run NA for a long time, so it will take some practice on the Nitto Drags.

When you guys going out there again?

BTW - Don't mention "Correction Factors" it makes people feel threatened, like you didn't "earn your timeslip" Us SIR racers are screwed.

hehe I don't trust a corrected slip but I highly take it into consideration when looking at the timeslip.

Its a huge factor but do I get to account for the crappy prep at my track that earned it the reputation "ice rink" or the fact there there are 100 of miles of pure humidity/mosquito breeding swamplands not even 10 minutes from my track?

During the summer rainy season, i run on average 3-4/10ths slower, cannot really correct for that. So don't think you are the only one at a disadvantage.

Hey everyone has a summer buddy.
You think your the only one with a hot summer?
Look at our location.
Humidity comes too.
Nobody except John Force gets god track prep.
:D

I was just warning him not to try to submit a "corrected" timeslip. He would get laughed at.

EDIT - Florida? Your in florida!! I have been there in June and I can tell you the heat and humidity ain't NOTHING! It feels like 9:00 AM in the Tucson summer all year round in florida!

Thanks for all the talk. Maybe a few more mods down the road I'll head out again and get some new numbers, but no engine stuff planned for a while - need to get some coilovers and shocks next.

If the AZls1 guys are going out on the 31st, I might head too. I'm adding LCA's and a new Panhard this weekend, so maybe dropping the 60' a bit, but no real change so I just might spectate. I might have new wheels and tires too, my Kumho 712's are down to wear bars, and I'm going 17x8 to get Falken Azenis. The right rims might help drop a few pounds of rotating mass off each corner.

After the 31st, all test and tunes are Friday night and I'll be on the ice..

Im really interested to see how the LCA's help out with your 60 time. Im still havent decided if im gonna make it out on the 31st. Im not sure if ill have the LSD installed by then but I might go just for something to do and hang out for a while. Here are some pics my friend took last saturday.

Awesome, it looks like we might have some form of a Tucson V6 gathering going on...

I WILL make it out sooner or later.

Looks like you guys had a great time. Wish I could have made it.
