No new bests, but she ran consistanly at 11.9s.

First pass - braked to about 1800 RPM to load the suspension, then flashed the converter

    1.650 - 60'
    4.900 - 330'
    7.635 - 1/8
    89.88 - MPH
    9.987 - 1000'
    11.973 - 1/4
    113.40 - MPH

Second pass - braked to about 1500 RPM then flashed the converter

    4.881 - 330'
    7.603 - 1/8
    90.16 - MPH
    9.952 - 1000'
    11.938 - 1/4

Last pass - flashed the converter at idle

    1.623 - 60'
    4.855 - 330'
    7.578 - 1/8
    90.76 - MPH
    9.929 - 1000'
    11.909 - 1/4
    112.98 - MPH

I didn't hit my goal of 1.5 60's, but there will be another day for that. Tires were at 13 PSI all day. Next time I'm going to air them up to about 15 or 16 and start from there. Since there's so much sidewall, they might be dragging too much for me at 13. Overall, a nice day at the track.

Typical Florida weather. Cool in the morning (maybe mid 40s). In the afternoon it started to warm up a bit to mid 60s maybe. Very dry and no wind.

I've been here a long time and have made alot of friends here over the past 3 years. Many of those friends are interrested in how I'm doing with my car, be it the V6 or the V8. If you're not one of them, then don't reply.

yes, my new member number is rather recent. but i have been cruising this board since the begining. 12secondv6 turned me on to the board and i have been reading and posting since then.

i don't see the point of posting every gain with a V8 car on a V6 board, especially since when this board was founded if anyone showed up with V8 times they would get ripped. did this change just because a few people sold their V6's?
does this make it ok for me to outline the build up and running of the 455 pontiac motor i am building or maybe the 377sbc? is it ok jsut because i know some of the older members or do i need a lower member number to bring in info that does not apply to the board?

V8 envy maybe? I read this board EVERY DAY, and have been a member since day one. There is not a problem with owners that buy a v8 still hanging out here. The post says TA not firebird, if you don't want to read about it, don't click the link.

                          I like hearing about it.
The v8 tech might not apply so much...

Which is exactly why I included the bit about thinking the tire pressure might have been too low, and the details on how I was launching.

Now, to get this thread back on topic, has anyone else tried flashing the converter from idle? Seemed that I got my best 60's when I did this. However, I was HOOKING right off the line too. It takes alot of tire to do it (I was on 27x10.50/15 ET streets) but if you can hook, it seems like this is the best way to launch this transmission. I've heard the same from other V8 drivers, but never heard much from V6 drivers trying it. Anyone?
