Viper, many factors go into choosing a rollbar. You would have to decide which ones are most important. First off, a 5 (or more)is NHRA legal at NHRA legal santioned events...which means you could probably get away with a 4 point in "test and tune" or "bracket racing" at your local track, but not at NHRA events...(How many of them are there anyway??) There are weight issues...chromoly is the lightest though most bars are made of steel. Appearance and thickness of the tubing should be considered. I don't have the rulebook in front of me, but the NHRA has a standard rule for the thickness of the tubing. There's the safety issue of course..5 or 6 point will protect the driver and/or passenger whereas a 4 point might not. Do some searches on bars when you get a chance...some of them are Wolfe, Autopower, VFN...

Pay attention on ls1tech for wolfe GP's.. I got mine 15% off, came out around $500 or so. The down bars to make it an 8pt where only an additional $35 i think.

        Is it this one?

Listed on RKSport as the RKSport "Race" rollbar with diagonal cross brace? That's the one I've had for years... love it, except the fact that the passenger seat can't move back worth a damn now. Where did you read that it only weighs 59 pounds? I've never known the weight but I always just kind of guessed that it was a lot more...

Wow, that's a great pic! They (RK Sport)told me the 4 point with cross-brace is 59lbs. I weighed it and it's only like 40lbs. The bar feels really heavy because it's bulky, I guess. They wanted to sell me the bar you have (for a discounted price) because they didn't have the 4 point in stock...but I told them I would wait. It took a month to get it.

How did you attach the harness? To the cross-brace? BTW, I have my extinguisher in the same spot as yours..

I have my top two points (straps) wrapped around the cross-bar. Side two piggy-back on the seat belt bolts. Bottom one bolts to a bar / eye that the KIS man made for me. Pretty much just a piece of steel that goes across the front two seat mounts, and then has a little rectanlge of steel coming out with a hole in it, which I bolted through the 5th harness point. Works great for me ...

Umm ... RCI. 5-point latch and link. Was like $50 or $70 or something. 3" on all 5 points.

I have the Autopower harness from RKSport. As you can see in this picture, its quite beefy.

Takes longer to get in the car and get started but you get used to it. No big deal at all if you have a daily driver to get you to the grocery store.
