Hey MustangEater I think you'll find this one pretty funny...

Posted: Mon Feb 02, 2004 2:01 pm Post subject: elvis 1st time at gainesville raceway <blockquote>quote:</font><hr> ok 1st i want all to know that i had a complete blast last weekend and the race staff were all great now to the important stuff, i was a virgin tell my 1st race but what an experience, but it also made me realize that its not just mods that make you go fast again i realized as i have stressed on other threads its a combination of research, engineering, careful thought, planning, and now add trial and error that makes you and your car go fast.

so here are the times, i dont have a scanner so i will post them and remember this is just a starting point

      1st run r/t .560 2nd run r/t .374
      60' 2.330 60' 2.470
      330- 7.063 330-7.063

      330-7.231 7.241

      1000- 14.789 14.831
      1/4 17.794 17.846
      mph 74.68 74.50

it was at this point i started re thinking everything i was being told because the more i did what i was told and tried other ideas my times were getting slower so after each run i reversed something and it worked, i reinflated my tires, did not do a burn out, took out the air filters, installed a fresh tube of force, stopped pushing the car to the line and started it each time i had to move then would shut it down again, kept the hood up and got rid of my ice bag, went to partially shifting down the track, ect ect

      5th run r/t .821 6th run r/t .527
      60' 2.294 60' 2.469

yeh thats right just like i said im new to the tracks not new to the game and whats funny is its posted just like i said, dribbling idiots, finally somebody who has enough sense to go searching for the answers and as i said 97 + TRAP SPEED , pretty funny is right, the joke is on mustang you know it all and i have the slips to back it up, along with several other very good runs, since then with one trapped at 98.61, but my problem is its not happening each and every run and i will not be happy until it is repeatable over and over, so anyway i guess now you can take the bus home, end of the dribble see you guys at the track

Face it man there are stats on your slip that just aren't feasible. If you really are trappin 97+ then you won't be running 16.3, you will be in the mid to low 14s. Another is your 60' there is no way that you pulled off a 1.721 60', i mean hell that's faster than Shane and he's running mid to high 12's with a turbo. So how about you scan that timeslip and prove your 16.3@97.75mph.

Yeah, something is definitely wrong there. He went from most runs trapping around 78 to suddenly 88 and finally to 97, but yet the et's don't match up being anywhere near what they should for those speeds.

No wonder he wouldn't post any et's. He's not even running 9's in the 1/8 which makes me think Tiago was right.

problems with the mods, problems with the dream, problems with the speeds and times, look you guys really are amazing, you dont ever see me post any negative opinion, i wonder why, that is because i know my car and what were doing duh,but i dont nor would ever say about anothers car, so look lets do this, just when im done with everything, pull up next to me and watch my tail lights ahead of you, on a track ofcourse, since i dont street drag, now i am driveing on street tires and i have Alot of wheel spin, that may account for some of the erradic times, could be there having a timer problem, but if thats the case then they would be having alot of complaints and the problem would be fixed, get with it guys are we now going to find a problem with gainesville where major races are held, please im so sure

I think he means 1/8th also...

                  Hey I trap 96 and run a 14.4...

                  But a 16.3 at 97...
That really doesn't add up unless you had a fast car and a TERRIBLE launch, but you had a 1.7 60' time which is great... Something is REALLY WRONG here..

Timers can screw up, it happens. I've seen it at all the local tracks. Although in reviewing your posted times, it almost looks like you were running n/a and then started using nitrous (worse 60's but somehow better mph and et by a significant amount).

i agree, im not launching like i should, i think after the bmr gear is all installed and i get more cockpit time at the track it should improve, also i sometimes get stuck in 1 gear or miss a shift due i think to too much free adrenalin and not remembering all the things i need to do or in the right order, again that should change with more practice, as i said before new to the track not new to the car, any constructive suggestions

So you're saying race gas up'd your trap speeds first by 10mph then by another 10mph in between runs? I don't think so.

no, thats not what i said, i said i think race fuel actually may have hurt my speed and time, dont know, but im posing the question, i have learned tho that i do need to advance my timeing to take advantage of what ever race fuel has to offer, i think, dont know, what do you think

There is nothing that you could have done at the track that would have resulted in 20 mph difference in trap speed or the difference in 60' times except maybe swap an engine, find some fatal mechanical flaw, etc. And by mechanical flaw, I mean no spark plug wires, no compression, etc. I know a while ago I said that I was not going to respond to this thread but now I can't resist. You are a f***ing liar and now you have proven it to us. The only game to are familiar with is lies. My car traps at 95-100 mph and I don't put out low 16's. If you really thought, you would have come up with a better lie.
