• how can I do this with my 3.8 camaro

I will have either shane's, tiago's, or matt's turbo and alot of weight reductions and a beefed up trany,
how else can I do this: http://www.2quicknovas.com/burnout.html

Go to the two grand national videos. I think they are 3.8s well at least they sound like them. r they twin turbo?

lot of weight reduction off the nose...

a turbo will hope but your best bet is nitrous, you need alot of torque off the line to do that, and nitrous delivers alot of torque.

You are looking at like 500-600 hp to get the wheels off the ground on a streetable car(I made tht number up but I bet its about right)

GN Video #2

Why do these guys do this good all the time, or are grand national as light as a go cart.

i just watched another video and this guy with twin turbos on his v6 produced 1036 rwhp. whats the highes we can go if these are the same engines. or is it just that noone has really tried with our cars

Its not the same v6... thats the problem that is a 3.8L series I and we have a series II

Best way to do that in my opinion is put a GN motor in your car...

Guy that bought my old 3.4L car... just fixed everything up, got it repainted, replaced interior and has a 600ish hp GN that he is going to swap in, he is looking for a drivetrain at the moment.

It doesn't take 500hp to pull the wheels. I've seen it done by cars under 400rwhp. It takes a certain suspension setup. But if you wanna go faster, pulling the wheels shouldn't be your goal. While it looks cool, and people love seeing it, it doesn't always mean you are running your best time.

Sigh, power isn't the issue
We have some members who have posted video to my disbelief.

All about suspension/ weight transfer.

I've been told I did it but no photo proof

Iknow its not an all power thing, but for an average 4th gen... I guesstimated the 500-600 hp...

I know you can lift the wheels, but the videos I have seen of v6ers were nothing like that...

James is right it is about weight trnasfer and suspension...

my reccomendations if you are not going to do it the hp route...

rip as much weight off your nose...
-lightweight K-member
-no front sway
-de-gassed front shocks(or drag shots
-Skinnies
-battery relocated
-!front bumper support
-!AC
-manual steering rack
-!abs unit
-!emissions
-!washer fluid
-smaller radiator
-!coolant resovoir
-lightweight hood

Full rear suspension...
-torque arm
-LCAs
-panhard bar
-drag springs and shocks, maybe even air bags
-track bar
-12-bolt with high gears maybe 4.10s
-BIg a$$ stickies

and a high stall torque converter that hits hard

And I say at least 400 hp(to lift the wheels like the cars he showed)

If you want wheel lifting fun, buy a 5.0

it really does nto take tons to get teh front tires off the ground. figure you need to be cutting like a 1.60 or better 60ft time and you can get it done regularly. in all actuality with a 4th gen V6 that is prolly possible with 300-325 at the wheels, some sensible weight reduction, the right convertor/clutch dump, and basic suspension bolt ons.
the turbo will produce plenty of power to get the fronts in the air. relocate the battery and run some 3.73's. pick a convertor th twill hit right aroudn your torque peak, maybe a few hundred rpm before it so it pulls through peak torque as you launch.
front suspension can be jsut dropping the front sway, drag shocks woudl help but are not entirely needed.
rear suspension is gonan be important. 50/50 drag shocks, adjustable control arms, control arm relo brackets, and a good torque arm.
you won't need huge tires. your car is already fairly light, and with the front suspension free of the sway bar it will be easy to transfer weight onto the rear tires. if you got a 26x9.5 or 26x10.5 DOT slick(hoosier quick time pro's rule!) you will have all the grip you need.
i suggest a line lock and sub frame connectors to help make the car live through the experience repeatedly

good luck
