Not a bad Idea. Thanks for the info! I will do my research and in the mean time save some money before investing it back in my car.

Makes me wonder what I would run...

Have you considered doing any computer work? By fastchip or Westers?
Fastchip is supposed to be about 17rwhp and 25rwtq for an auto 3.4

I see. Well, I have thought about getting computer work done, but (correct me if I am wrong) I would have to send my computer box out to the factory. No biggie, but it would be a slight inconvenience, but probably worth the gains. Maybe after I get 3.42 gears, I will have them work on my computer. Thanks for the input.

I know with Fastchip they will send you a computer first that is already programmed...
They send you the PCM, you take yours out and put in the programmed one, then mail yours back. Like 5 minutes of down time

Did you get a custom job from Fastchip or did you get the standard setup for your car? How much increase in power did you notice?

Just the standard one.
I noticed a very nice gain from the computer work... my car was pretty weak when it was stock, it would barely spin the right rear tire going around a turn. After I put that computer in it would smoke the right rear like nothing.
They do custom programming for cammed cars too, I think... it is worth the money in my opinion.

Wow I was a little embarresed until I saw that you had headers, jetchip, pullys, and a cam. Sweet times though. Still wish I was that fast. I don't like running 16's anymore. Time for me to move on up.

WTF .. what are the specs on that cam?.. you said its not too big.. i'd say it isnt too big.. my car with less modification ran faster than that..(not trying to flame, but that cam must be hella mild)

when i went to the track last summer in unideal condidtions with a Dynomax ultraflow muffler, underdrive pulley, k&n fipk, and catco cat i ran a 15.935 , however i was puttin out 2.1 sec 60's

Here is the web page with the specs.

crower.com

The part number is 03015

I did not want a very large cam. I was concerned about my driveability. I am kinda regretfull about not going one step up to the ultra performance compu pro. Once I get some more money under my belt, maybe I will go bigger, right now, the cam is definetly much better then what I had before.

(If that hyper link did not work, here is the web addresse: http://crower.com/misc/cam_spec/ )

Just noticed your car has alot fo top end... work on the launch.... 2.3 is crappy

I managed 2.0s with lsd, and 3.42s... and 9s in the 1/8 you do that you will probably take the record

YOu shoudl at least be able to get it down to a 2.2, I have hit 2.1s in crappy tired open diffy now... I think I was hitting 2.2s in my 3.4L on the open diffy, with a few 2.1s

and 87 mph trap speed with 3.23s is good enough for a mid 15

You know what? I do suck at launching. That day a dude told me how to take off by fethering the clutch.

If someone else who is a better driver then I am got behind the wheel of my car, I think we would see mid-15's. Thank you for the inspiring words!!! MustangEater8251, you live in orlando, maybe one day we can hit up bradenton or orldando drag strip and I would definetly like for you to drive my car or at least show me how to rip the track up!!!

You have no idea what you are doing by letting me drive your car :D

Maybe sometime, but feathering the clutch is a good way to launch it especially with an open diffy.

You definetly could get a better time forsure! With your trap speed it looks like you could could hit 15.5 or 15.4 or maybe better . Im gonna miss my 3.4 :( . I had so much work done to it and never ran it because it was giving my so many problems. Keep trying ! I hope your times improve.
