  • crappy low end :(

Ok, last year's best E.T. was a 16.7, this year's so far is a 16.6. my 60' is 2.55 and my mph is 84.5... what do i need, i have intake and exhaust pretty much covered, cutout on y-pipe is worth .3 and 1 mph, having the headlights down was worth .5 mph lol, but what can i do to get that 60' down, i have great tires and tried several launches but no better than 2.6 on most of them.

how much does your car weight? is it a convertable?

    automatic or 5 speed?

i dunno man.. somethings gotta be holding your car back from going faster. maybe check compression see if your getting full output of your engine

you really need to fix that launch...

2.6? jsut launch it more easily next time what pressure are you at...

I say ideal is 28-32 psi no lower or higher.

Gears, LSD? How are you launching best? Also, does the car feel normal and strong and just give bad times, or does it weak weak?

definately a starting line problem, with that MPH you should be running low 16's atleast, i only run 85.5-86 running 15.5's at penwell....

Agreed, borrow or buy some nittos, and get your 60' time down. You should be low 16's if not a high 15:)

yeah i practiced launching and got to where i could do it on my old tires, these new ones break a bit but shouldn't be that much of a problem... i didn't try just easing the gas b/c i wasn't spinning that much but i will next week if i make it back out!

i've got 3.08s... maybe i should just save up for some 3.42s?

ha, there's your problem, 3.08's suck plus you may have a really low stalling TC, some factory Torque converters are freaks and stall like 2800....i'd say get 3.42/LSD and a TC and your ET's will drop considerably..

My factory setup was the same as yours (3.42s/LSD) and I got 3.42s, a LSD and a 3000 stall converter and I run consistent mid-low 15s at a slow track.

                    tell you the truth...

I woudl practice more at the track before throwing money at the car...

2.6 60's is ALOT of wheels sping.. if you were running consistant 2.3s maybe a little bit of work...

but you are complaining about a lack of low end and and can't do better then 60's you just need to practice...

Personally I can see you still running low 16s with bad 2.3s 60'

Low 16' with no more mods than he has, at our track, is pretty respectable. Your car running mid 14's in Florida MIGHT run a 15.4 or so here, just FYI.

Keep up the hard work Dilan, you'll get there man!

I figured the much but what I was saying was hsi 60's are 2.6s according to him... If he ran a 2.3 60' which still isn't that wonderful at any level... but not as bad as a 2.6, he would be in the low 16s.

And as you said it woudl be respectable withi his mods at your track, so just improving his launch he should get better times...

1/2 drag racing is the launch, the other half is hte hp at the other end of the track.
