  • $0 mod list please????

Im going to the track the 14th and need to hit the 14s. I will be installing a CAI tomorrow and need to get the little resistor.

I will be lightening my car a little(backseat, jack, wrappers etc. more pressure front tires, drain washer fluid, charge battery before, etc.) I would like to get ahold of the list of mods from mustangeater if i could please. I want to see 14s.

Oh yeah, I just pull my belt off right before I run and put it back on after I run right?

Any other tips would be awesome. thanks guys

What I ran on my zero mods...

-!Maf screen(seems not to be reccomended on pre98 cars)
    -!spare and jack
-!air box, I ran open TB(I just would wrap the IAT sensor around the ABS unit so it wouldn't jsut dangle)
-Unhooked exhaust, I unhooked the exhaust under the car after the cat and 02s, on my car it was right above the little crossmember piece that uses 4 bolts to hold it on, and you need a 15mm bolt on the exhaust.
-As for the drivebelt, I would go to the track run 2-3 times with it on, wait for the car to cool down(usually 45 minutes between runs) Then once it got dead cool, as in, reading flat, I would pull the belt then run. Watch it on the return run, and chekc your guages like a hawk, try to avoid giving it gas other then your 1/4 mile pass... Remember you will have no power steering. Then let the car sit, at my track its usually busy and my car will return to a dead cool temp by my next run usually. I will crank my waterpump by hand a little if I get bored at the track...

Your alternator will not be charging well, I know on MY battery I have done 5 full runs down the track, and open and closing windows and had no problems... SO make sure to watch your bat or you will need a jump. A small tip I do, is I pull my e-brake up one notch before I start my car to race, so it keeps my daytime running lights off and it doesn't activate the brakes yet.

READ THIS BEFORE YOU PULL THE BELT!
Your car will heat up 10 times faster then usual with the belt off... and remember your coolant sensor might not be telling you the correct temps since the coolant in the engine may be hot but not in the radiotor, and its not being circulated. So watch this, this is by no means safe if you do not know what you are doing.

Good luck and hope you get some good times.

Also forgot to add.... I ice my motor, help cool the motor down faster between runs, try to stuff a bag as far under the hood owl as you can, its easier the 2nd or 3rd run around when it melts a little.

If you've still got 3.08s out back you're going to have a tough time hitting 14s. What kind of 60' did you pull on your 14.7 run?

3.08s aren't very quick off the line

Were those runs at a track or using something like g-tech? 14's are going to be really hard with 3.08's and a car that old. I ran 16.0x's my first time to the track with cai and exhaust. Good luck

                  my 60' was 2.332...my 1/8 10.166 and
                  1/4 15.708@88.34mph
with stock intake. I now have a getto intake that gave a little bigger than noticable power(6+hp) and will have back seat out and stuff.

Sorry... not gonna happen... maybe aim for a 15.5? 15.3 if you do lots of the free mods and drive it just right.

                      Well, front tire 44 psi
                      Rear tire psi 29-30 psi
Ditch weight, every 100 pounds is 0.1 quicker
                      Ram air, home depot style.
Pop the hood in between rounds
Don't let the car idle all the time, cooler is better.
Remove the rubber weather stripping at the base of the windshield, it allows air flow in engine bay

thats an interesting idea, but i dont have to do that because i have heat extractors on the hood, but it may still help...

IF the 14s in a 3.08 car was a question to me... no the car was not done on G-tech done at my same ****ty track... actually one of the witnesses to my runs, he is a board member here jsut not really really active.

I think he sqeuzzed a 14.8, I know for sure he has some 14.9s under his belt.

                          As for pics...

this is how I ran my car... I woudl say its more ideal to run a tube to a better area but since I had everything else zero modded, I thought I woudl stick with the theme and just run it open like that.

I have a 2000 the MAF is incorporated into the TB, the screen is normally right at the edge of the TB, but its removed.

That is a good one... about how long did it take to take off and are you able to put it back on afterwards?

                              Very easy to do.

I think there are little black plastic thingee's holding it in.

Mine has been gone since this winter.
