Without going to the track every weekend and spending the money to practice my 60 foot, would it be the same to just go to a back street, and just practice my launches?
That is the only thing keeping me from my 13 sec. run on the 100 shot.
Damn 60 footers.
Any tips? I have an M5, and will be on street tires until I put the 3.73's in, then I will be on my ET streets

I use street runs to practice launch a little but mainly shift points.
The problem with practicing on the streets is at the track(well at tracks other then mine ;) ) they spray down a decent bit of VHT, and have the launch area clean and clear for launches...
Its harder to launch on the street. If I launch how I do on the street, I bog down a little. I will practice a little, but on the track launch it harder then you woudl on the streets.
practice on a slightly smooth serface.. if you can master it on a blacktop. you'll rip it up at the strip.

btw still on stock 3.23s? Seems like reving the car up to 3500ish, for the launch and feathering the clutch from there seems to work the best, to get out of the whole fast...
jsut have to learn how to slip the clutch right to get out fast and not roll out too slowly but not to light the tires up.
So my truck is finally getting some work done, after 17 years, Oil pressure sensor went out and it’s located under the lower intake manifold. Have to...
