Those are awesome times... Thats a high elevation not sure how much elevation effects 60's but I think you could squeeze dow to a 2.1 at least maybe a 2.0

are you sure you are heating up the tires enough and the converter is stalling up high enough?

I am not an expert on launching autos with a converter but seems like with nittos, 3.42s, lsd and a 3000 stall you could be in the 1.8 range at sea level...

Jsut have to launch it harder... I heard it takes alot of practice to get converters to launch right, same with drag radials.

Word on the drag radials, they are killing me here.

Practice. I think the notion of dumping the clutch is whats killing me. I want to BLAST OFF from the line, not launch! :D

the first thign to do if you wanna get a better 60ft is to take your time staging adn put teh car as shallow in teh beams as possible.
it is really simple to do.
pull up slowly until you turn on the top set of bulbs and stop immediately. then creep or bounce the car forward slowly until the second set of bulbs comes on and stop. if you can get teh car stopped at teh very edge of where the tires will trip the full stage bulbs you give teh car sort of a head start to the track. it is only a few inches, but it shows in your 60ft and ET.
once you have that down you have 60ft times that you can compare and you can start to experiment a bit with teh launch.
first thign to try is pumping up the front tires, get them up to about 50psi. it is not bad fo rthe tires since drag racing is such short duration and the tires never get a chance to heat up and have the air expand. this will make it easier to get the car rolling and allow the car to roll out better down track.
put a stripe on the tire taht faces the stands and have a friend watch, or even better, video tape your runs to see if you are getting any wheels spin.
if you are getting wheel spin mess around with what rpm you preload the car to at the line, the more preload the less of a shock to the drive line and the smoother the car shoudl be able to come out.
if the car is dead hooking then you can lower teh preload and try to get more flair rpm out fo the convertor. if the car is hookin this will give you the best 60ft time, but it is the hardest way to be consistant reacting adn dialing if you decide to bracket race.
overall i woudl say your timeslip looks good, especially when you consider the altitude. keep up the good work.
