  • Automatic Trans Launches

I have a few questions. I am heading to the track to drag for the first time and I have an automatic transmission. What possible tips can anyone give me to get a good launch in an automatic? I am running a 3.42 gear
I will be running street tires, should I do a burnout?
And what the heck is power braking?

street tires just turn them over a few times to clean them off no need for a burn out. pull up to the line hold your right foot on the gas and left foot on the brake(powerbraking). get the rpms up a little you will have to try different rpms for best launch in your car with your tires and your track condition.

Depends on the track last night I reved it to about 1800 and got 2.17x's. I'm an auto on 3.08's and an open diffy, I do have intake and exaust mods though.
