Ywah work on those 60's might hit some 15.0s

As or different times... not sure... practice bring consistantly...

maybe your mph got worse cuz I assume you kinda hotlapped it a litte you got alot of runs in.

i actually took a break after about 1/2 through our runs and then we started hitting some better times. we had other people giving us compliments for having a v6 that can break traction and keep up with mustangs like we did. I found two more slips and here they are

      e/t mph 60'
      15.554 @ 88.16--2.331
      15.698 @ 88.60--2.375

my tranny was shifting from 1st to second at only 35 when it usually did it at 39 or 40. i can tell that that was the thing that hurt me the most. I also keeped it in second till 80 a few times but it kept on into 2nd for a lil bit longer then hit third. and yeah third sucks.

u think with 3.42s I would possibly hit high 14s or ? we need slicks or something though my speedo says 84 when we cross the line. I have 225/60/16vs. they are huge for my car. i can never peel out on the regular roads but man I couldn't get traction on my runs.
I tried skipping the heating of my tires(big mistake
I tried skipping the water(some guy said its only for slicks and that water would get into my dread and hurt my launch.
The best was when I started in the water and kept it going to the tree. I forgot to stage in the sticky shiny parts so I actually never launched without spinning. slicks and 3.42s I think would get me into 14s.
Keep a lookout for cheap cheap cheap 3.8 complete engines. I need to start building a forged 3.8 soon before my engine goes. I think my engine will last another 30,000 or more, but that is if I drive like grandma(I have no discipline)

sorry about the long post (novel)any more pointers would help alot...thanks

Try stalling at about 1800 the dropping it on the 2nd yellow.. It worked for me Friday night. I ran 2.1x's on 3.08's. Of course practice, and good track prep helps.. :D

Im stalling at about 2000 then giving it heck and letting of the brake as fast as I can. 2.175s holy crap you sure you got 3.08s you need a shift kit and youll hit 14s.

Sometimes when you stall it to much you spin way to much on the start. Keep it under 2K and your 60's should go down. Either that or get a verter, and flash it.. :D

A technique on an aftermarket high stall verter. Rev to about 1300 then on the 2nd light let off the brake stomp the throttle, and hold on for the ride

oh yeah and on this drag I didn't: pull the belt, take off exhaust, ice the engine(although while I waited I had the hood up), and I didn't do the tire pressure thing.
I did try having a bare MAF w/o the screen, and I put another 5.6k resistor chip on it. My 60' ran over a cliff and died when I did that(dropped .2-.3 in the 1/4 too) so I kept the screen off and just ran my home depot intake. I removed the other resistor and had only one 5.6k resistor on there with the intake on and only one 5.6 k resistor went from a 15.8 and 15.7 to a 15.5 and a 15.4

                    225-60s are skinny tires!

i run 245-50's. thats your problem with traction.. thats like riding on a donut.

but all in all you cut some decent times for the little mods you have

would having bad shocks hurt my 60' or 1/4? my 60s were lame my best was 2.299 and my worst was like 2.5 something. my mph was constantly 88, but im just curious. my rear shocks are completely shot. i mean, going over speed tables is like a 6000 lb cadillac.

could this be because I floor it all the time?
                        thanks in advance

friend found two more time slips and they were both 15.5 somethings at 2.3 somthings. yeah thats alot of passes, the next time we race we will ice the engine, put some sort of muffler on because they wont let us run without it, do the tire thing and maybe try it a few time w/o the belt. well see.

oh yeah my friend told me that when he ran that 15.3 he said he knew he did good. he said that not only did he kill a grand prix but it squaked the tires when it shifted into second.

i would have done better but I stalled it for too long when I staged until the last few passes, then we stayed at 15.5 or better. my car was shifting at 35 instead of 40 though. that hurt bigtime and I was wondering why it shifted that way.
my next two mods will be the TB spacer and the battery in back thing.

back shocks won't kill your times... bad rear shocks might actually afford you slightly better times unless they're terrible and falling apart.
