Hey all- I've been to the track many times but have never ran. Well, that's changed now... I made three runs, temp was around 55 degrees, high humidity.
1st:
left: ___ Right:
A3 VW GTI Vr6 ... Me!
R/T ... .875 ... .636
60' ... 2.408 ... 2.501
330 ... 6.590 ... 6.953
1/8 ... 10.00 ... 10.481
MPH ... 72.25 ... 69.47
1k ... 12.912 ... 13.488
1/4 ... 15.349 ... 15.994
MPH ... 92.50 ... 90.64
I was so used to launching on the street, I bogged big time on this one. I think I launched somewhere around 2k, on the street this would produce lots of wheelspin but on the sticky track surface it just bogged.
2nd: (best run)
left: ___ Right:
Nissan Skyline R32 ... Me
R/T ... .873 ... .621
60' ... 2.464 ... 2.219
330 ... 7.130 ... 6.368
1/8 ... 10.448 ... 9.843
MPH ... 77.39 ... 70.85
1K ... 13.140 ... 12.795
1/4 ... 15.360 ... 15.260
MPH ... 103.28 ... 92.01
YES, A SKYLINE!! Right hand drive and everything. We pulled up to the line together and I was like, yea right, this will suck.... he had laptop computers in the car and a helmet and the whole nine yards. You can see by the MPH though he was closing fast. I think he either broke something or was just messing around. Either way it felt good to beat a Jap-spec Skyline. I launched harder on this run, about 3000, got a lot of wheelspin in first and a little in second.
3rd:
Right: ___ Left:
ME! ... Lexus G430 or something
R/T ... .511
60' ... 2.382
330 ... 6.503
1/8 ... 9.961
MPH ... 70.98
1K ... 12.914
1/4 ... 15.388
MPH ... 90.98
The Lexus never finished. I launched at 3500 this time, loads of wheelspin and wheelhop. I also bounced the rev limiter thanks to our super slow tach output, which only read about 5200 when it happened. :( How about that .511 light? That was the best of the night for anybody!
Overall I'm happy, I was expecting mid 15's and I managed a little better. This is on my sub-crappy 335 Goodyears. I was running better than a few V8 F-bodies there, which will always put a smile on my face. Need rear suspension and tires now.....
I had a blast and at least I can say that I beat a Skyline. :D
