• How Much Loss from Leaving the Heater on??

Reason I'm asking is because I left the heater on during a 12.0 pass at 113mph. I think that was my new best ET if I wouldn't have left it on. I had a 1.672 new best 60' too. One time my BF did that in his Z28 and lost .5 of a second... If that were the case, I think I could've definately run better than an 11.8

i dotn think it makes a chit if its on or not...and the .5 slower from the heater being on is BS, something else went wrong before that caused it to run that much slower.....

The heater makes no difference. I ran my current best with the heater on.

I doubt it does anything... if anything works liek a secondary radiator...

No, that wouldn't do anything. The heater would basically act as a second radiator and if it was on, it would slowly help cool the coolant. That's a trick I used to get some overheating cars home.

 ricer math this >>> The Z28 ran consistant 13.6's until the heater was left on...then it ran a 14.1. That's why I wondered if that could have affected my ET at all. I was told by other people at the track that it does.

                      Has never affected me.

When it is cold out, my heat is on when I'm making passes down the track

I lost about .1 in my V6 when turning the heat on.....and about .2 and 3mph by having my headlights on in my Formula, and about 1.2 seconds from starting in 2nd.

The hot water is being circulated by the water pump anyway. So basically when you run the heater you are running a fan which doesn't take much juice to run. I highly doubt the heater being on makes any quantifiable difference in times.

Headlights draw a lot and I always have those on when I run since it is always at night. I doubt those slow me down.
