• Good day at the track: new best

First shakedown run of the season:

R/T .... .120
'60 .... 2.205
330 .... 6.361
1/8 .... 9.877
mph .... 69.51
1000.... 12.936
1/4 .... 15.520
mph .... 87.37

Second run was a little better, hot-lapped and made another pass:

R/T .... .555
'60 .... 2.251
330 .... 6.391
1/8 .... 9.854
mph .... 71.12
1000 ... 12.869
1/4 .... 15.429
mph .... 88.19 <-- New best mph

R/T .... -.036 <-- I really care about R/T lol
'60 .... 2.274
330 .... 6.414
1/8 .... 9.869
mph .... 71.30
1000 ... 12.873
1/4 .... 15.424
mph .... 88.35 <-- Another new best mph

Final time, another hot-lap, was the best

R/T .... .372
'60 .... 2.221
330 .... 6.363
1/8 .... 9.824
mph .... 71.21
1000 ... 12.831
1/4 .... 15.384
mpg .... 88.32

Track prep was crappy and I think my low tire pressure was an issue, I should have aired them up but I couldn't find a pump, I guess they didn't have one at the track. Anyway, the first track trip of the season resulted in a new best time. My previous best was 15.400 @ 87.26, with a 2.081 '60. If I could cut that kind of '60 again I would see a lower 15, maybe high-14s. Good way to start off the season.

Tire PSI was 22 in front, I think I needed to air them up some. What should my PSI in front be? 40 something?

Take the front up to 45 and the back to 25- 28. I'll meet you out at T.V. one of these Fridays after I get my Car back from Extreme (Tranny Rebuild, Torque Converter install, fan switch install and LSD install(hopefully if I can get one here before the 21st). I'm hoping these mods will get me into the 14's solid.. ;)

I run my rears 28-32 psi... and the fronts ~40 psi...

I always aim high with tire pressure and go lower form there...

if the tires are too low, the sidewalls are stiff and cause the middle fo the tire to bow upwards so its jsut as bad if not worse as running too high a psi.

Thanks, I'll do that. I look forward to seeing you out at TV, I'll probably be going next week, shooting for a high-14 as well.
