  • 1st time I made it to a 1/4 track !!! updated

    Well just like it says, I finally got to run on a 1/4 mile track, and I am happy with the results. I ran 15 times with the worst being
    R/T .044
    60' 2.246
    1/8 9.492
    mph 73.63
    1/4 14.88
    mph 91.21
    I ran several new bests today, my new best 60' time is 1.945, and my new best 1/8 is 9.09 at 74.22 mph. But my biggest best is my first 1/4 best which ran like this
    R/T .249
    60' 1.99
    1/8 9.10
    mph 74.94
    1/4 14.374
    mph 93.29
    These times are all N/A with a full interior even a stealth box in the trunk, so I am very excited about the rest of the season and the possibilities.
    MY Car
    98 3.8 camaro mods:Custom CIA, RKSport Headers, High flow Cat, Managflow 3' catback,heads,intake and Tb ported and portmatched, 206,212compcam w/ new springs and pushrods,accel 30lbs injectors, msd coils and plugwires, and reprogrammed comp. by dave buckshaw,battery in trunk with flaming river cutoff switch, tranny has 2800 stall converter, and a v8 4l60e race rebuild, aluminum driveshaft and loop,slp lower control arms,eldlebrock torque arm,comp engineering drag shocks in the rear and nitto drag radials at 18 psi.

                      Thanks for all of the positive feedback, I really have put a lot of time and effort into this car, its been over 2 years in the making.As for the advice.I would definetly say suspension, suspension, suspension. The way your car hooks and puts the power down is extremely important, without them you have nothing but a tire shredder. As far as parts are concerned my top 3 (and everyone else can chime in too) would be my LSD and 3.73's # 1 (if your an open 3.08 stock),cam and heads could be combined for # 2, and the last spot would definetly have to be a high stall converter. Those 3 things alone will knock serious times off you run. Thanks again, its nice to know that people can appreciate what you are doing.
