  • traction at track and road way different...why?

when i am on the highway i cannot break my tires loose, but at the track I had a hard time getting traction. I tried no burnouts, then burnouts without water( made things worse), then burnouts in the box(still chirped hard at the line) on my "new best" run I even caught second gear rubber. then on the way back up the trap I would keep it in first and break them loose at 25 and sometimes 30. then I pull on the real road and i cant even seem to get a chirp.

    whats up with this?
does an auto with 3,08s usually not burnout easy or ? you dont think my converter is going do you? my tires are 225/60/r16V and grip like no other on the road, but at the track they seem like they are 2 inches wide.

I had the same problem last night at my track. My first run, 9th that night, I hooked good and got a 2.33 60'. But after that I ran slower and slower and slower. I was chirping my tires real bad and I even did a small burnout in the bleach box. I lowered my rear tire pressure to about 25.5 but still couldn't grab. I am thinking the track prep sucked and there was a small amount of water at the line. Everyone last night after about the 200th run had a hard time hooking. I did get a new best of 15.7128 @ 87.21
