  • Color for Roll BAR?

The bar is black, the car is black (with purple pearl accents/stripes)... I'm getting more paintwork done with metallics (on the car) hopefully within the next week. Should I paint the bar custom or leave it black? I don't know if it would look better in plain black or what. Any suggestions?

I vote paint it everything else is pretty custom and would go with the whole car, I think of it as priding yourself in having things just a little different than anyone else.

I saw leave it black, and make the rest of the car look sexy.

I wouldn't want to do something that stands out a whole lot. Looks ricey to me.

I'm gonna have to paint my roll bar as well. At first I had just planned on painting it black, but then I thought about different colors. On person suggested I paint it the same color as the car (pewter) but to me that would just look like rice. Right now I've narrowed it down to two (other than black). One is a charcoal grey, which will match the interior. It will be different than black, but won't stand out like pewter or something. The other idea is a black/grey marble - looking paint... First you spray the black on, then the second coat is a grey color that shrinks and cracks after it dries, showing the black underneath. Looks really cool, but kind of a pain in the butt.

Yeah, I do a lot of shows... I use to know someone who had a teal Z28 who had the roll bar painted the same color as the car and it looked awesome...like it belonged there. But that's the dilemma...my car's black and so is the bar. I'm getting some type of marble paint/metal flake graphic on the body of the car and on the bottom of the ground effects... maybe some of that on the bar??

Definitely! If you've got the money do the custom paintwork to the roll bar!

match the rollbar to the purple accents of the car. it'll look really nice I think.

Maybe if you have a dark colored car, but my car is pewter. A pewter roll bar would stand out WAY too much in a charcoal interior.

Shirl - I think your bar would look good matching the dark metallic purple on your car. It would be different and it wouldn't stand out too much. I don't like interrior pieces that you can spot from a mile away (like pewter roll bars).

That leather idea would be awesome..... but now you are adding weight right. Not that a few pounds is going to hurt you much.
