i have street legal mickey thompson drag slicks that I will be using, but they are for 15 inch rims. do you think the rims that are on fieros and some pontiacs would work on my car. I can get them for ten bucks a piece at a junk yard. the rims I am talking about have the same "depth" as the new camaro rims have and by depth I mean like the old camaro rims would stick out on our new cars, but the fiero rims wouldn't.

the 15 inch rim should fit on my car right...with those slicks????

Don't waste time and money on a 2500. Get a 3000 stall MINIMUM. Yes, you should hit 14's with that.

Whether or not the M/T's will work depends on what size they are.

                As referenced here: http://www.camarov6.com/ubb/ultimate...;f=10;t=001597

15x7 thirdgen wheels hold 235/60/15 DR's just fine, and they clear 4th gen rear discs. The car referenced there is a good buddy of mine, and I've seen him dead hook those tires from a 4 grand clutch drop for a 2.081 60' in 75 degree weather.

As far as choosing a converter, don't just get the biggest one you can get your hands on. Talk to some of the manufacturers that make converters for the car, and give them a list of your mods, and the mods that you have planned for the near feature. They can have a substantial impact on the right converter for your car. The idea behind the converter is to allow the car to launch at the beginning of your powerband, so different converters will be required for different mods.

I believe that either 1 by itself would get you VERY close to 14s thats only around .3-.4 away.

3.08s to 3.42 is a HUGE differance and should net you close to that in the quarter, same goes for a converter.

Driven properly I can see EITHER mod getting you 14s, both should definitely get you there.

All you have to worry about past that point is traction!

I was supposed to go in last night. I'm waiting on the Eaton LSD to arrive. If it's not here today it will be installed next month and I will take the car today. I've got to get my new tires on the car asap, as I have "may pops" on there now. If I get it back this weekend I'll run it next Friday night to see what difference the tranny rebuild + converter made. Then next month I'll get the LSD installed and check that. I'm hoping to see N/A 14's without a cam... ;)

with my car having 3.42s 3000 stall converter=mid to high 14s

headers and full exhaust, and cam i should be hitting close to 13s NA or at least really really low 14s.

then a weight reduction throttle body spacer, ported throttle body and alot of practice do you think 13s would be possible???

then my dreams.....p&p intake and heads, forged internals, bored 40 over, then 13s for sure i think
