I race at WIR (Wisconsin International Raceway) in Kaukauna, WI. I think your right about the 750' i got the 2,000 from a dumb site. Also, thanks for the post but I dotn know why I would lower my pressure...I dont spin at all. I tried launching from almost 2,000 and it didnt make any differnce compared to 1,500

Just some more info:the car doesn't really seem to take off until 3,000, I dont knwo if its normal or not but at exactly 3 grand the car kicks back again(is that when it locks up?)..like the launch just not as intense

Apparently theres still a problem so I'd like to hear some more ideas if anyone has some Thanks!

Are you sure you're not spinning? Sometimes the tires won't make a sound but they're losing traction. Try the tire pressure thing (25 rear). If you bog the launch then just air them up again.

Those are some horrible 60' times, and your not spinning even launching from 2000? I say reset your PCM and see if that helps. Otherwise maybe check fuel filter/pump? The 3 grand sounds about right, that's about when my finally decides to start moving.

dropped the air to 30 today..no difference same 60'(2.54) and a best ET of 16.5....I had about enough of this...I think I'm getting new exaust and a LSD with 3.73s. I cant let a 'Maro get beat by some old POS cars anymore lol. I still think something else is wrong though...maybe the cat will fix it but i doubt it...igniton maybe? some sensor? Anymore ideas???? Thanks again everyone

Have you tried replacing anything else? Maybe your O2 sensors, fuel filter, or cat might be a good idea. You should try getting your car to run better before you start modding. No sense in modding a broken car.

I have no idea...also there was another 6 cylinder with 3.23 gears and Extremely light mods and he was running a 16.0 if it helps you figure out how mcuh tiem im losing and the severity of my situation...I appreciate your help

You try any of my suggestions? O2 sensors and fuel filters are cheap to replace. PCV valvle? I would check the engine bay and make sure all wire and hoses are connected.

You can't just throw parts at a car and expect to fix things. I understand you are trying to narrow down the posibilities by replacing parts with 'known good parts' but what would happen if one of the new parts that were bought was not good. The best way to figure this out is to have the car plugged into a scope so the engine can be monitored under operating conditions. A scantool would also tell you information about engine functions while you were driving the vehicle. DO NOT start throwing parts at the car. That is a waste of time and money. Fuel filters and pcv valves are on thing but o2 sensors and other stuff are another. If you think its a fuel problem, check the fuel pressure. If you think its spark related, check the plugs (visually and electrically). And so on.

"i dotn knwo where to begin without the SES light on i have no way of diagnostic testing it..."

you can still check to see what is going on with your car without the SES light on. also, your intake could really be hindering you, especially if the filter is dirty. go get a good CAI and see what happens. i would definitely check your plugs though, and wires. if you dont have anything to electronically test them, start your car when it is pitch black and look for arcing,

if all else fails pay a kid $5 to grab the wires and if he gets shocked you probably need some new wires.

i think it would be intake and plugs and wires before anything. did you do anything as far as weight reduction goes???

oh and most importantly, how hot is your car while you race?

with 3.08s 220*engine, and stock air filter your 60' times would definitely suck

                    good luck

I dont wnat to sound dumb but i dotn even know what a PCV valve is...I looked everything over as far as wires and hoses and stuff. I'm changing plugs again, fuel filter, full synthetic trans oil, dumb stuff like that cuz its not throwing money away with maintance products. Air fliter was just changed but still stock intake. I run at about 180 every run as close as I can get...i think never at 200. I hooked a diagnostic tester to it when i was in high school last year and it was running these times and no codes showed up. As far as o2 sensers..theres what..4-5 of them..you want me to change them all?? I dont do any weight reduction and really dont want to. sorry everyone i guess im alittle challenged in the computer controlled vehicle department..maybe i should have stuck with old cars lol Thanks for trying to help me out guys

Here's a link to PCV valve info It's a normal maintenance thing and cheap, I think there's only 2 O2 sensors. I think it's a good idea to replace maintenance things like you're doing, if you still see no improvement, you might have to bring it someplace and have it looked at. You tried resetting the PCM? On one of the other boards I'm on, a person brought their GTP to the track and ran 15.2, reset the pcm at the track and ran 14.6, could be a case of your computer learning easy driving(if that's possible)?

Dude I ran a 17.2 with a 2.7 60' when i had catback & a filter. this was at 5,800 feet with a slight spin off the line. dont feel bad.

This was in an Auto 3.4

i am almost hitting 140,000 and it says to change PCV things every 30,000 ro 50,000. my mileage is still around the 30s and my car runs good. should I change it just because its a maintenance thing or just leave it?? thanks in advance

Probably not necassary, but couldn't hurt. It's like a $3 part and takes a minute to change.

Those 60' times are horrible.... If I were you, I'd take the fuel filtr out and blow through it, if it is restricted, change it. As for the cat, Rev the engine hard, if it makes a bit of a crakling sound (not the marbles in the muffler sound) it's prolly okay. Your rear gears are probably the reason for the lack of spin at launch, I cut 2.2 60' with my 3.4 open rear and 3.42s, I really have to feather the throttle to keep from spinning.
